Carob Powder Storage

Hi All,
Another question for you :D.

I just ordered a 5 lb bag of raw carob powder online. I usually just keep my carob powder sealed tight in a ziplock bag in my pantry (cool, dark place) but I noticed that it can get stale. Since this is a 5 lb bag, it's going to take me a while to use up. Is there a way I can store it so that it lasts longer? In the fridge, maybe?

I always find the fridge the best place for most food items unless they come in a special container made to keep preserved.

I too am leaning towards fridge or freezer. I say this because the last 1# bag of raw carob powder I bought at our health food store - was spoiled. Phew - it stunk! Very sour smelling. It's the same brand that Matt Monarch carries on his site. *Ü*

I would divide it in smaller portions, place in zip-lock bags, making sure No moisture can enter and store in the Freezer.
