Hey Raw Friends,

Years ago I had a tentative diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. After a couple of years of switching to macrobiotics and now three years of eating high raw, my symptons have been drastically reduced. I have felt confident treating it holistically.

Now, I'm into bikram yoga. I haven't felt too graceful lately and am aware of minor tingling in my hands. I'm concerned about the heat connection and MS. General guidelines are to avoid overheating for people with MS.

does anyone have any feedback for me or any suggestions on how I go about researching something like that?

thanks, thanks so much1

Love, Stina

hi there!
i may not be much help, but i was diagosed with MS in 1999. i went raw (as close as i can to 100%) this past January. i went off the badmeds i was on (avonex)& everything else.
the heat historically made my symptoms worse. this is typical for MS. i have not found out yet what will happen to me as time goes by, with being raw/no chems vs. symptoms. i read the book by Matthew Grace and as i understand it, his symptoms are ALL gone. but he doesnt talk about his personal results much at all in the book and that was disappointing altho i loved the book.
for me, i simply stay out of the noon-day high heat. i am too early in this to test it out.
would love to hear how you progress!!

Its my understanding that the heat exacerbates the symptoms or "damage" thats already there that you may not necessarily see all the time. Does that make sense? I was diagnosed with MS in 1994. I spent several months in a wheelchair. I started juicing. I juiced fruit every morning and then switched to veggies from noon on. I wasn't 100% raw but probably 90%. Withing 3 months I had gotten out of the wheelchair and was walking without even the aid of a cane. BUT even after all these years if I get too hot ALL of those symptoms come back. As soon as I get cooled off I am back to my regular self. My friends call me cheesecake because I have to be refrigerated!! Even when I work out I keep fans going and try to stay cool as much as possible. Hope that helps, Kathy
