My 7-year old daughter badly wants to use her cookie press, does anyone have a raw cookie recipe we could use?

I hope someone will chime in, I have 4 kids that would love something like this.

Can someone explain exactly what a cookie press is? I know that chopping cashews in the food processor until they're a fine powder and mixing that powder with agave and a hint of salt makes a great "dough".

Thanks, I will try the cashews. A cookie press requires a very smooth dough because it presses the dough through a small mold and makes different shape cookies. I think most people use them to make Christmas cookies with. Is that a good explanation donnaandcathy? My daughter got one for her birthday in November, but I haven't let her use it more than once because I started eating raw in January. I feel so badly for her, but I really want to keep the sugar out of the house...

Grind the nuts in a coffee grinder to make flour - then use the flour to make cookie dough - it works well :)
Cashews make the best tasting cookie flour.

Well - we made the cookies tonight, using cashews in a food processor. I'll use the coffee grinder next time, I think that will work really well. I ended up with pretty much the consistency of nut butter, sweetened with agave nectar and a bit of salt added. The flavor is really good, and I think we could use other nuts as well. They were too sticky to eat right away (at least they didn't maintain their shape) but I put some of them in the dehydrator. My daughter was thrilled to get to use her cookie press, and I was thrilled to have a healthy cookie to give her!

Is your daughter raw as well? If not then there are tons of vegan cookies. I have made them for my 11 month old. I am raising her to be high raw and vegan. She is vegetarian and 30% raw right now.
