Hi all,

I've been a vegan for over 22 years, and finally made the decision to become a raw vegan about 3 months ago. I first contemplated the idea a few years ago when a friend and I went to a raw food workshop. I was impressed at how satisfying the food was at that workshop and bought "The Raw Gourmet". Unfortunately, I became a bit overwhelmed and daunted by the prospect of 12-24 hour advance preparations or longer, in the form of soaking, sprouting, etc, and so the whole raw thing kind of fell by the wayside.

Anyhoo... stress at work and the ever so slight creeping up of the scales (and subsequent tightening of clothes) brought the idea back to the forefront of my mind a few months ago, and I just decided to do it, and now I don't honestly know what I was so afraid of! I have been having a ball in the kitchen, even though I had always hated to cook in the past. I'm also lucky in that my partner is going along with me on this and is almost as excited by the change in our diet as I am.

I think I'm probably about 95% raw at the moment, and can't see myself ever wanting to go back to a standard vegan diet.

Welcome Laura...I was the same way ...having The Raw Gourmet book.....saw it as daunting. Yet I started simple, never even looked at those books. Then when I made raw my own, I dug into making things and it was a blast.
I keep it really simple now and make stuff once in a while. Love simple.

You will do just fine. Happy rawkin n rawlin on live foods.
