My husband and I went to Grezzo tonight to celebrate our anniversary.
It was SOOOOO good!
We had:
Raw green olives
Sake Bloody Mary cocktail--amazing garnish--a whole young carrot, pickled cauliflower, sea veggies and the BEST pickled beet ever [it was pickled in fennel, anise and red pepper---YUM!]
Sake Chai Coconut cocktail
Gnocchi with cream sauce, Peas, Pea Shoots and Eggplant Bacon strips--excellent dish!
House Salad---this was the absolute BEST salad either of us has EVER had--
it had so many elements! Including: endive, baby iceberg, baby romaine, shaved cucumbers, carrot slices, mung sprouts, fresh garbanzo beans, marinated/pickled cauliflower, black olives, sunflower sprouts, microgreens and small crouton disks [the size of a dime] that I think were sunflower seed "breadstick" type dough. It was VERY lightly dressed with a vinegrette type dressing that 'may' have had mustard powder in it. I can't believe how impressed we were with this salad. It was just simply amazing. It seemed like one of those things where the sum was much greater than the "parts"!
Tomato Ravioli---the wrappers were VERY thin slices of tomato, the plate had an herb infused oil drizzled underneath the raviolis, the plate was finished with microgreens and drizzled with truffle oil. They were marvelous!
Land and Sea--lots of different mushrooms and the boursin style cheese flavored with lemon and dill, served with sprout salad and drizzled with nama shoyu. It was good but my personal taste wanted the mushrooms to have that really marinated texture and instead they had the cool, more crisp, fresh mushroom texture. The cheese and the sea veggies were very good.,
We didn't get dessert because we had no room! Poor planning :(
Next time we will probably share one entree so we can enjoy a dessert :) They did look divine!
The restaurant is very pretty, it's in a really nice area to walk around and people watch, the service was great and the whole staff was so friendly and helpful. It was a great dining experience.
Definitely GO if you have a chance!
