before i went raw i used to make a vegan cheese using agar agar, cashews, and spices and veggies. however, all the recipes i used called for putting the agar agar in boiling water...does anyone eat vegan cheese like this? i know it's not completely raw but i'd really like to try eating it and seeing how i feel afterwards. i was just wondering if any rawbies eat heated agar agar. thanks!

I think its like a Gelatin and has to dissolve in the water. I think its in Jullian Book. I do know that others have made it, sometimes you have to call the shots and do what you think is Best.

Same as Lara bars, except they're only 80-something % raw.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but is it true that Lara bars are not 100% raw? I have eaten many of them thinking that I'm eating a raw product.

Yep. Still pretty healthy though. That's why I think a lot of the difference between 100% raw and almost there is just psychology. People who are 100% and claim to feel the benefits of such will eat Lara bars unknowlingly and still feel great :)
