My mother was watching some news channel the other night and they did a story on the benefits of raw food. She told me that it was going to be on but I was too tired to stay up and watch it. My family knows that i have been on my raw journey for over a year now, and they hear about all of my pitfalls, successes... yadda yadda...
The next morning I asked my mom about the show she said that she learned a lot and that it is amazing how raw fruits and veggies can transform a person. then she said to me firmly.. "I learned that.. IF YOUR GOING TO DO THIS, YOU REALLY HAVE TO DO IT. AND STICK TO IT!!!!" :) .... great motivation. my mother, the saddest eater I know, is telling me to stop cheating myself by eating cooked when im off of my fast....and to JUST DO IT!!
WOOOHOOO!!
now if only she would! ........I think she has something inside of her telling her to try!

I think we all have a small voice speaking to us through our instincts that is letting us know that fresh raw garden foods are the right fuel for our bodies.

I remember when i went vegan years ago, and no-one knew what that was, vegans were considered freaky people who smelled funny, know what i mean? and then teh soy latte came, and since then vegan is everywhere here.
My dream is that in a few years it will be the same thing with raw foods. Nowdays noone knows anything, and we're considered totally wierd, but imagine in a few years, when the new soy latte is the cacao-mylk-shake!!

just a few short generations ago , parents used to be bewildered and lament how to get their kids to eat all their fruits and greens ... i think with the invent of the TV dinner (does anyone else have horrible memories of those aluminum tasting meals lol) , its sad that over the last 50 + years eating fruits and greens has become so obscure. I truly hope that trend is changing !

Amen!!!! I imagine a global veggie community :)
You are in Northern Europe? If you dont mind me asking, what country? When I was living in Praha I surprisingly found a lot of raw food products at the local health store! Wasn't expecting it at all ;)

I'm way up north from Praha, actually i'm in Sweden. I'd say that in most of europe there is a huge tradition of homepathy, sef healing, natural remedies and so on, so raw foods might catch on easily on that tradition. Whenever i go to the UK i'm amazed to find Bach remedies at Waitrose's grocery stores! People are really into alternative therapies there too...

Yay! I'm very happy for you that your mom supports you in this!
I just learned about RAW a few months ago and eventually told my family. Of course my mom was concered about PROTEIN, but when I began telling her everything about it and how great I felt being 100% raw, she was also very interested in becoming raw, or eating more raw! She's interested in the master cleanse, too. I brought some raw spinach dip over to her house one time with celery, kale, and bell peppers, and she moaned in delight just like I do with my raw food! It's really great for people to be educated on the simplest and healthiest way of eating!
*nudge* tell your mom all the benefits you're receiving from being raw! Maybe she'll just get jealous and want to try too!

My mom just started drinking green smoothies! I'm sooo excited! She's having 1 quart a day, and she's gonna do it for 30 days to "see what happens".
She came to me asking me if i knew anything that might help her with her stomach issues. I just wanted to scream: RAW! but i didn't, bc i did not want to scare her or anything. SO introduced her to the wonder that is the green smoothie. And i said "just have a quart a day of this stuff and see what happens. i know lots of people have benefitted from it".
Hopefully she will feel a natural attraction to more vegetables and fruits, and shift her diet towards more raw, which would be awesome for her health and for me!
