Hi Everyone!

I'm a newbie! I just finished reading Alissa's book and i'm on my first day raw. I'm extremely excited about this because i have about 40 lbs to lose and i suffer from asthma, which i hope to improve by eating raw. The only problem is that i'm not sure how much food i should consume. I know eating raw is about listening to your body and what it needs but i've suffered from binge eating disorder since the age of 13 (i'm now 24) and let's just say my instincts aren't so great. I'm actually scared to under-eat (as far as calories go) not to over-eat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and even some examples of your daily food intake.

Hope to hear from some of you!

Congratulations on your decision!

I would not worry about over or under eating right now. When I first started, I ate alot of food (all raw), and wondered how I would lose any weight. Well, guess what? I lost alot of weight.

Since beginning this lifestyle, I no longer consume as much as I did before, but, I still keep lots of fresh raw items, around the house and in a lunchbox for work. I may or may not eat everything I throw in the lunchbox, but at least it is there.

My advice: be prepared with having lots of fresh, raw choices for you to pick up and eat at any time. Try different recipes.

Blessings.

I was a binger for years and when you go raw your body still lets you know when you have had enough. Don't worry about the over eating. your body needs everything the raw offers now.

The way to avoide undereating is to always have lots of things that you like nearby.
