Hi I've been having real bad stomach pains at night right across the middle of my stomach. Feels like a build up of wind because when I get up during the night I burp and get this awful taste. Gentling rubbing my stomach sometimes helps and a warm bath. Its not bad food combining as I'm careful about that. I thought to start with this was a bug as my daughter had it but mine has continue for a week she was 2 days and last night I actually vomited. I'm thinking it may be a couple of things, I constantly eat brazil nuts perhaps it's my bodies way of saying stop. I've also had bad diarrhea for the last 3 years due to blastomsystis so wondering if I don't have any good bacteria left so perhaps I need to do something about that. I'm just to scared to eat now so thinking a water fast might be a good idea. Any views on this would be really appreciated as it's getting me down.

easing up on the nuts for awhile. Whenever I feel like something is wrong in my body fasting sounds so tempting; but I wonder if there are occasions where it's better not to fast, to just drink smoothies, stay hydrated, and pay attention to what I feel like eating.

It almost sounds like indigestion, or acid reflux.

Mint tea can be very settling for the stomach, peppermint especially.

Let me know how it goes!

Boy I think I might just ease up on all food for a lil and see if it passes....the gasses passes.

Oh probiotics and fermented foods to restore flora?

Take care and keep us posted?

I did wonder about acid reflux because -sorry if this sounds disgusting, when I was sick it was just solid stuff and it actually burnt my throat and has left it feeling so sore. Would having fruit juices add to acid reflux, I'm not to clued up on that area.

I have acid reflux if I have to much to drink (smoothies, water, juices) or eat. I also have major issues with citrus. Drinking to close to bedtime does not let the fluids pass out of the stomach and they can come up when you lie down.

let's put it this way... a fast won't hurt... it'll only heal.

and i would totally do a fast if i were in your position. a nice juice feast with lots of green juices and yummy fruit juices like apple/parsley/ginger and perhaps watermelon juice (with the rind of course)... mmmm so nice and healing.

try to do 4 litres a day of juice (that's a feast - less than that is a fast) and 2-4 litres of water.

all the best...

Fasting is a great healer.

If you get that pain/gas/pressure again... it might be a gall stone trying to pass. I have had gall stone attacks and it feels like upset stomach at first, gas and the pain won't move. I did vomit. It only lessened over the hours when I did not eat. Eventually I did liver flushes and have not had a gall stone attack since.

If it gets uncomfortable, you can try dissolving a teaspoon of epsom salts in some water and drink it. I always chase that with juice cause it tastes nasty. The magnesium relaxes the ducts and allows the stones to pass. It won't hurt if it is not stone, but will relax you. And it will move your digestive tract, too.
