Hi,

I've posted a few times before, and I don't mean to be redundant, but I have chronic Lyme disease.

I went raw in 1998 (almost 2 years after first getting sick), and I got better, not all the way but better.

I did raw again in 2005 and I managed to gain weight on raw (I did have a little cooked vegsan food a few times/week), not alot, but enough to look better (Lyme makes people either gain or lose weight, and I'm in the loosing section, it sucks).

I'm now doing raw again and adding more raw foods % wise after getting some scary jerking episodes starting on Mother's Day. I feel too thin again, but I know that many say eating too many fats is bad.

I am not doing raw from a weight perspective, but from a health perspective, so I need to get the best foods for cleansing/building my immune system. I've been vegetarian since 1998, but sadly ate way too much sugar at times, course I didn't know I had Lyme because I was misdiagnosed.

Is it better for me to eat avocados compared to like sunflower seeds? I eat Barleans Flax oil in salads, and I use extra virgin olive oil.

Or should I just not worry about the weight, and figure that it will come back on my body when my body is ready?

I don't want to sabatoge my healing, by eating too much fat. Is eating dried fruits or fats better in your opinion?

Thanks for your help!

I'm definitly not an expert, bu my first thought when i read your post was that i don't think it's a good idea to exclude food groups if you want to gain weight.

Nuts and seeds have loads of energy in them, and if you eat what has loads of energy eventually your body will gain weight.

I've never read anything about nuts/seeds being bad over all, i mean some people get bad reactions from too much fatty foods (acne, constipation...) but if you don't experience any negative side effects to having nuts/seeds i see no reason why you should cut them out.

Also, i'm not sure if your body will gain weight just out of thin air (or, fruits, more like it;) ) if you've been chronically loosing weight for so long. But, these are just my thoughts, i am not the nutrition specialist...

If what you are doing is working for you, I would keep doing it no matter what your weight is. Right now you are seeking Healing, when that happens then you can focus on other things. I've heard lymes is no party. I wish you a Speedy Healing.

Thanks guys! Something is definitely happening. I get a flare up about every 4 weeks and this past weekend was time for it (flare usually lasts 2 days). My legs were much more sore than usual (this happened last November too when I was juicing a lot). I've been pretty depressed too, but I know die off toxins cause a lot of stuff like that, so...hoping it's from the increased raw!

The great thing is, is that I am craving raw again now, not wanting the chips and things. My appetite has been lower lately (but I know the body likes to fast when healing), and yesterday at my In laws house, the chips did not look good at all. I ate cantalope instead!

I guess I'll try not to worry about it for now. Just finishing up my lemon water, need to cut my watermelon and make a big salad for later today, yum!

Take care,
Ocean

It's about balance so don't eliminate raw food groups. You might try finding an alternative doctor that treats bacterial conditions. I know ADP-oil of oregano tabs sterilize the body but the die off is horrible. Add more greens for healing. Hang in there and keep healing your body.

Thanks mstrish,

I used oral oil of oregano last spring along with about 60 drops of grapefruit seed extract. It about laid me flat! Not sure which one it was for sure that did it.

I did use transdermal oil of oregano about a month ago, twice per day. The second day my brain fog was terrible, couldn't remember how to type on a computer or open the fridge for a few seconds. I want to try it again, but it was a little scary. I'm trying to get to about 90% raw before bringing out the big guns so to speak.

Also need to get my mercury fillings out (have 2 or 3). Sigh....I'm 30 years old for crying out loud but feel about 60 I think. My 80 year old grandma and I can relate to each other a lot!

Funny thing is that my mom said I look about 25, so I'm all messed up, lol!

I'm craving salad like mad today, am planning to make some raw sushi (vegan of course, haven't eaten animals in over a decade) too.

I'm so thankful for this site, you guys are great!

Take care,
Ocean
