Many of you who are Raw or are interested in a starting point, you most likely search the internet for hours on where to find the best deals on Blenders, Bulk Foods, Water Ionizers, Rebounders, Etc... It is very important you STAY AWAY from the follow web sites.
BlindGuru
RawSwammy
Rawfoodadvantage
Rawfoodobession .com
This is the same person, and is a dishonest business man. He and his accomplices offer you "the best deals" on the web but you end up with stuff you did not order and a big headache, that is IF you get anything. They scammed me out of hundreds of dollars and I will not let it happen to anyone else! Please spread the word. These people sell them selves on "sharing is caring" but all they really do is steal from you. BUYER YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I'm so glad you posted this, I thought my experience was just a bad one.
I ordered from Blind Guru, and my order was messed up, I contacted them by phone, left many phone messages, wrote a ton of e-mails, and could not get anyone to contact me at all. I tried to be nice but firm, and even said that I was willing to work something out since I thought it was a mistake on their side.
Nothing, I even told them that they were not using very good customer service, and that they needed to contact me, nothing.....
I will never order from them again, just on the basis of them not contacting an unhappy customer.
Let me know if you find a reliable source to order from.

When a company does you wrong like that, contact the BBB for that area. And threaten to contact the Governors dept of Consumer Affairs. I swear that works. Do not let companies get away with things like that under any circumstances!

If you paid by credit card you can also contest the charges with the company. The CC company will refund the money you paid them.

That's good to know. Their site is very very confusing and i talked to them via email and just got a weird feeling about them being sketchy. He kept wanting me to pay for consulting and buy products when i was just asking for information

I have found this to be true as well unless the CC company doesn't find in your favor after their investigation.

WOW about 2 weeks ago, I was going to post a thread about his youtube videos. they're kinda scary. I'm glad as a newbie I didn't take his bad advice and found this website and others. I've learned to seek out more than one opinion about food item.

As the guy who runs the Blindguru.com for the past 2 years I say your warning is baseless fearmongering.
It is baseless, because I do not run the other websites and they do not run the Blindguru so no, we are not the same person. This is easily verifiable. All it takes is four toll free phone calls and see if you get the same person on all four sites. I dont know who answers the phone on the other websites but on the blindguru 1800 578 6988 you will get me, JAY. No not THE blindguru but the guy who can vouch for EVERY single order thats been sold over the past two years on the site. We have hundreds of co-op members and I can easily produce as many satisfied referral as you like. Try us on this. Call the blindguru and ask if you can speak to 20 30 50 100 customers who have bought and are happy with their experience. EVERY single order that goes out the door has a tracking number attached to it and no one has lost a single package in 2 years.
For a long time now, I have ignored the kind of cheap fearmongering your post represents because I did not want to dignify it with a response. But I also realize that you are doing harm to everyone interested in getting started with healthy living when you leave this kinda ugly defamatory cheapshot and people dont see a response. I dont know and dont care what your motives are, but since blindguru gives out free rebounders blenders and shower filters we are bound to make enemies, mostly with other distributors who dont make as much money now that we are in the business. For everyone else, visit the site, or call us--see for yourself.

Well then Jay, how come you never returned ANY of my phone calls or SEVERAL of my e-mails about the order you were not filling that I had placed and paid for back in May? You never contacted me via phone or e-mail and you never fixed my order, but you had no problem taking the money. Would you call that good customer service??

Well, I have no idea who you are and what your order is unless your avatar is printed on your credit card. So far all you're saying is you ordered some item and we didnt send it out and I am supposed to know who you are. At any rate, if you truly bought something and we didnt ship it why not dispute it with your credit card? They have NOOO trouble reversing your charges back to your credit card for items not received. Blindguru has a 7 day shipping policy on everything unless the manufacturer is out or experiencing production issues. I return every single email except those from the occassional crackpots that wants get 2 ounces of prill beads or a single vanilla bean or spare part for some waring blender they didnt even buy from us.

whoa. jay--if you are on here to let people know that you have good customer service and that you will address their problems, why not just apologize for any possible problems that anyone might have had with you and then ask the person to send you a message so that you can try to address the problem. The poster who had a problem with getting an item from you made it clear in her post that she tried many times to get in touch and was unsuccessful receiving any satisfaction, so obviously there was some miscommunication and the issue still needs to be addressed. Practicing good customer service right now would be in your best interest but unfortunately, your posts come across as accusatory, confrontational, and frankly, rude :( And people really dont want to have to deal with the hassle of trying to get money back from credit cards etc; thats why they want to buy from companies that have good customer service so they wont have to do all that. since you registered on this board to defend your company and customer service, it would give people a better image of you and your company if you humbly addressed the concerns.

Maybe "Goji Berries" would remind him of the order?? I made it clear in all the messages I left. My 18 year old daughter can vouch for all the calls and e-mails I made, she was as upset as I was.
I'm not going to sit here and argue with him, I have more important things to do. And I didn't use a credit card, so I couldn't dispute it.

First of all, I did not come here to resolve a customer service issue with anyone. I posted a reply to a post, the original post, which is a patent lie: Blindguru is a completely and totally seperate entity from raw food advantage and rawswammy and raw food obsession. I was not intersted in convincing anyone here to shop at the Blindguru. it is evident to me that the prevailing presumption here is that since someone said they had a problem with a website then ithe accusation must be true. That is simply not so. And mea culpa, I AM accusatory and confrontational about this, because someone is lying and misleading people about the way I run the Blindguru. Based on donnykathy's statement that she didnt pay by credit card I am more than ever convinced that she, too, is mistaking Blindguru with the other sites. Blindguru ONLY takes credit cards, in over two years there hasnt been a single check or money order transaction.
Dollar to carrot sticks that she conducted her transaction with Rawfood advantage or Rawfood Obsession or maybe Rawswammy, which primarily sell food items. Blindguru started selling Gogi berries since August so there is no way Blindguru is the target of her angst. Should I offer a refund anyway because that would be awesome customer service?

A feature on my comcast toolbar that I use and appreciate is the site verification. It is a simple color coded box (like a traffic lite) followed by a one word description and a click drop down box for comcast customers to recommend preferences (including reporting fraudulent sites) or see a detailed report on the site. I find it a big help to separate the good players from the bad players.

I haven't even looked at the website, and I have no idea as to the customer service issues; neither am I on any side of this issue. All I got to say is that when I saw the post being from someone who just signed up and this is their first and possibly only post here, it makes me feel kind of skeptical as to their motives.

Referring to newspapers, it is said to never pick a fight with someone who buys his ink by the barrell. In the age of the internet it seems everyone is gettinng barrells of ink for free, including whoever lumped Blindguru with the other shady sites on this defamatory post. What I have to deal with every other week is our 800+ co-op members or 2500+ recipient of our newsletter asking why we dont respond to this post. So barrells of ink be damned, here we are.
90% of the content of the Blindguru is educational. We sell only a handful of products and honestly most of the time Blindguru.com gives away rebounders, probiotics, blenders, free recipee books, teleconferences, etc. In a world where mainstream media is intent on reducing the raw food and vegetarian community to a subculture of eccentrics, it is in everyone's interest to support a site like Blindguru.
Naturalmama: I appreciate your open mindedness I would like to invite you to visit the Blindguru for yourself. As a welcome gift mention this post and I will issue you a $50 credit towards any purchase, even if your total is only $50.
Donnakathy: if you can produce a single check or money order written out and cashed by the Blindguru for gogi berries anytime before August 2009, I will personally send you 10 pounds of raw organic Gogi berries, which we have been selling since August, FREE OF CHARGE. There you have it in black and white.

Jay,
Even when you're "trying to be nice" you come off as nasty, IMO!
The very first time you should have said" PM me and we'll see if we can work it out - I think you are not ordering from our site, but may be mistaken"....or something to that effect.
Instead of being defensive, your posts become somewhat offensive...to me anyway.

yeah, i actually thought a lot of stuff on his website looked really interesting; it was just the first impression he made and the way he treated donnyandcathy's concern that seemed sort of offensive. If in fact he is being confused with another site though, then i can def understand his frustration and defensiveness! Im really curious about a lot of stuff on the site though. some of it sounds really fascinating but a lot of it is stuff that its difficult or impossible to find any evidence to back it up... im seriously not sure if thats because science doesnt want to validate these things because there is a conspiracy against us learning them, or whether there isnt any evidence (other than hearsay) because the things dont work....ive been fascinated by the idea of prill beads for a long time...according to the site, dogs will choose prill water over regular water, and anytime prill water goes down the drain it helps to detox other toxic water it encounters... if its true, this stuff is fascinating. but in the past i have tried to get info on prill beads and what exactly they are and they actually DO and i havent been able to get any satisfactory info... :/ (i should clarify--i didnt try to get the info from the blindguru website, i tried to get it on other message boards, etc.) i want this stuff to be real but i dont know how to tell if it is, lol

Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. Emerson
Absolutely not, Mary Kay. There is a time to be nice and there's a time to be nasty. When a person posts a PUBLIC comment questioning Blindguru's integrity and calling me 'dishonest' and 'scamming', they are not entitled to my nice side and they are certainly not entitled to the privacy of 'hey, lets resolve this between us with a PM'. While my post comes across as obnoxious to you, your post indicates extreme pacifism and naivete. How is that, you ask?
Well lets look at the facts: someone joined this site in May of 2009 and posted a defmatory baseless comment about my site, their one and only post. Then a second person joins this site THE SAME MONTH and coroborates the lone poster's negative comment, claiming she bought something we don't sell, and paid by a method that we don't take. Blindguru is offering that person $140 worth of Gogi berries free if they can show any proof, other than their 18 year old daughter sayin 'hey mom's right.' And so far, she has offerred nothing in a way of proof. Even a copy of an email sent to theblindguru@yahoo.com saying hey where is my gogi berries will suffice.
And your position after considering all of these facts is, hey Jay work it out in private you come across rude? I think not. Posting and responding to comments on a site like this might be a lot of fun but Blindguru is a real business, with real members and a real mission to educate. Our good name and customer service is our biggest asset and the reason we have been in business for 7 years. Just so you know, the contents of this thread are more than sufficient ground for a defamation law suit against the original poster and possibly this site. But even I can not be that nasty when I'm angry.

Prills are magnesium supplement and work very well in restructuring the water. Dogs love it but cats get sick and even die from it so beware if you have both.
Send us an email to theblindguru@yahoo.com and I will be happy to send you a complimentary bag of prill beads with instructions and an in depth report on how and why they work.

I am in desperate need of a vitamix to run local classes here for children and elderly adults. Hey how bout it? Hey doesnt hurt to ask.
We do not recommend or sell Vitamix blenders. We endrose the much more powerful and higher speed Blendtec which is 13 amp 3 horsepower and goes for $400. I will do one better for you. Blindguru will donate to your cause a FREE Blendtec blender if you get 100 people from Raw Food Talk to sign up for our newsletter.
Here are the rules:
1. The person must have joined Raw Food Talk prior to December 2009. Yes I know that disqualifies me.... sigh
2. They should post a request addressed to the Blindguru and not me personally, so something like 'hey Blindguru I wanna support Lovenlife and her class with a new blender."
3. The post must contain a 4 digit number (make up any number) which should then be copied to an email to be sent to theBlindguru@yahoo.com requesting our newsletter. This way you dont have to put your email for the whole world to see.
4. Once there are 100 requesting posts following this post, I will ship you a 13 amp 3 hp blendtec blender FREE.
5. You have until December 27 to do this..inventory issues blah blah.

Fine be your nasty self, many of us have decided to never use your site based on your attitude here.
donnyandcathy couldn't get the issue resolved by calling your offices, if you were a real business person - you would have been immediately concerned at rectifying your company's failure, but you were too intent on acting like an indignant teenager. Now a bunch of don't care to do business with you.
That's the reality of running a business. Enjoy!
