I started going raw about six weeks ago, and at first, I was so motivated and excited about raw foods...but I feel like a lot of the things I make turn into tasteless mush!!

I bought several raw books (including Alissa's) and everything sounds and looks amazing, but when I attempt to make something, it's messy, mushy, and kind of gross!

Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe simple recipes that are tried and true? I'm even considering "monodieting" where you just eat one thing at a time...but that's the other side of the extreme.

I have a basic blender and a food processor. This is all still pretty new to me...

I'm also having a hard time staying motivated...

Any support would be helpful...Thanks! :)

Angela, I know EXACTLY how you feel!

I too have tried sooo recipes for soup, pate, burgers, snacks, cake, pies... and all i've ever though was that it tasted the same: rather sweet and mushy.

So i tried to evaluate what foods i really liked, and i realised that salads and whole fruits are my cuppa tea.
Un-cooked exceptions for me are tomato sauce for raw noodles, guacamole, soaked herbal grains (buckwheat!), and the occasional sweet mush for dessert. Oh, and green smoothies. how i love'm!

My suggestion is to stop blending things, and start making salads! I love simplicity right now, and it sounds like you might be "one of us" too..

Best of luck!

Flax crackers, onion bread can be made crunchy.

You could eat your food whole instead of mushing it up? Carrots, apples, celery...that sort of thing.

Thank you!! That's exactly what I needed to hear :)

I've been trying to make all these complicated recipes, when all I really want is simplicity!

Thanks again! :)

I have started doing wraps. a large collard leaf with carrots, peppers, celeray, zuchinni, etc. they are easy and have a crunch

Making different salad dressings can make an ordinary salad taste terrific. I saw a posting for a grapefruit one that sounds yummy. Try a combo you might not have tried before. Spinach and blueberry salad.
Last night I made flax and banana cookies that are yummy!!! I figured that if a 4 yo can make them on youtube I could too LOL.
They taste like banana bread and have no nuts.
Sorry you didn't want dehydrator recipes.
