Even with 2 years raw food, i still get those. They aren't as bad as before. Sometime, they start but will end the same day. This time, it did get through. I used silver and it helped to neutralized.
Now, i would like to get this out of my system for good. How do you get rid of this virus.
Thank you

I often get them but they are getting Farther apart now, I can't remember when I last had one. I used to Bite HARD on the center when it first started and that seemed to make it less severe.

The amino acid Lysine is a great cold sore remedy. Most health food stores carry it in capsule form. Try 3000 mg's per day. I think there are also topical lysine cold sore treatments.

So many things to investigate around virus. Raw will cause this to leave eventually. It might be deep and take time. I look at herbal and such to rid virus.

I did some checking on lysine and decided against taking it everyday. I was going to get some and take it at the first tingle of a sore. Thanks for reminding me. :)
Is getting rid of a herpes virus possible? Having a immune system that will keep the virus dormant is more likely.
Like many people, I have dealt with cold sores since puberty. It is so frustating. This past year on raw I've been getting them more frequently. I like to think the virus is making a last stand. Sort of a detox thing. Even though they are frequent, they are smaller.
I did find a truly amazing remedy. At the first sign of a cold sore I plaster on a bee product. "Really Raw Honey - Cappings" It is a mixture of Honeycomb, Pollen, Honey, and Propolis. I also eat a spoonful. The first cold sore I tried this with was just a tingle. I caught it early and only got one tiny blister from it. The second time I wasn't so lucky. A few blisters had already formed before I noticed, but the application stopped it right there. The bad news is having the honey mixture plastered on makes it looks like it is already a big nasty cold sore, but it is the best tasting medicine in the world. :)
For the past week or so I've been drinking nettle and/or horsetail tea everyday. Horsetail is supposed to be nature's scapel. I'd love to hear about any other herbs that might be beneficial.

Thank you for sharing.
RawKnister, did you notice that yours come up when your stress level goes up. I find mind comes in change of season and also when i deal with stress. I didn't notice also, they have came up more often since raw but not as intense.
I am going to try your suggestion!
Sometime, they do burst as this last one that is almost healed now, but in the mid time, i will be waiting for the magic cure.

My husband gets cold sores every winter, he's just starting raw so we'll see what happens in the future...
BUT.. I mixed him up a little jar of coconut oil with some tea tree oil... he puts this on when he feels one coming and they never develop...
maybe that could give you some relief :)

I have not noticed, but I will consider that next time. Stress level can effect the immune system so it makes sense. It does seem that stomach issues are in the mix, too. Last time I had eaten a lot of pineapple and my stomach was feeling out of balance. I'm going to note what I've been eating next time one pops up.

That would be a lot more attractive than my honey method. I'll try both. Honey at home and your tree tree/coconut oil remedy when out in public. :)

I get them when my lips get hit by the sun. I have to wear a hat.
