I had my first young green coconut today and I was surprised. The water was so sweet. The "meat" was a slick, gelatinous type of texture. It was good though. I will be eating those often. It was so easy to spoon out and eat. It was not as hard on my jaws as the mature coconut meat. It was so.............................refreshing. I can't explain how wonderful it made me feel. If you have not had one then you have to get one!

One of these days I will try one. I can't get them in my small town, but I'm sure I could find them in Seattle. I have to put them on my Seattle-shopping-wishlist.:D

When I had my first one, it was such an experience. It made me feel so awesome and powerful to open it, and then the reward was so refreshing and sweet!

They are good- I have to drive 3 hours to Albuquerque to get them, so I don't get to enjoy them very often

All of you should have told me about these a long time ago! I cannot believe I have been missing out on such a wonderful treat. Now I have to make up by eating about 10 of them a week! (gee thanks:D)

I regularly use Thai coconuts in smoothies.

They are somewhat time consuming, because whacking the top lid open is an event, in and of itself - but rewarding.
