I've been 'away' for a long time, it feels...

The Why

School, unemployment, relationships, family crises, and now work (hallelujah!) all became too much for me and I was extremely overwhelmed for the first several months of this year.

Ah, but God is always good. Light is returning to my life, or rather - I'm beginning to see it again.

The Now

I have found a wonderful job that I truly enjoy. The schedule works around my University schedule - no conflict. It's such a great relief to be earning again!

I have managed to sell the vehicle that was the largest portion of my debt. This was such a huge blessing! I am now free of that payment - and I've also paid down the other debts quite a bit, as well.

DF and I are "officially engaged" - we announced it to some friends, family. We are planning for a Summer 2010 wedding - raw, vegan, outdoor, sunset wedding, of course.

My grandfather - sole remaining grandparent - was recently hospitalized in poor condition. He is 79 years old and suffers from diabetes. Prayers for relief of pain are appreciated...

I pulled through the Spring 2009 semester with a GPA of 4.0 - against many, many new odds. It's getting harder and harder to keep my GPA, but always worthwhile. Because I am in good standing with the school, I am receiving full funding for my tuition + books, and some left over for housing expenses. I am tremendously fortunate.

My health is great overall. However, at the beginning of the year, I began to stray from my High Raw eating, and combined with poor diet + severe allergy to the dog of a girl who came to live with me temporarily (escaping bad marriage), I developed a serious case of allergies that took away my voice and made me very ill for weeks. I am now feeling MUCH BETTER, however my vocal cords took a hard hit and have not yet fully healed. It will take time and CARE, and definitely returning to High Raw. :)

Beginning tomorrow morning, I will be attending yoga classes at a studio that is walking distance from my home. I am looking forward to the exercise + meditation time. Lord knows I need BOTH pretty badly. :)

I am hopeful about the Summer months and feeling revived and ready to make some progress - and bracing myself for all the new challenges that will come in the Fall! :)

Such good news!

I'm so very glad for you! It's often so hard to see that there is an end to that dark tunnel when you are in it, but often that makes it so much sweeter to be out the other end.

My thoughts are with you for your grandfather, and congratulations on the engagement.

Hope to see you round a little more now. :D

Welcome back!!!!

Your story so encouraged me. I am unemployed and have been since November/08. Decided to go back to school full-time in September to finally finish my degree, but must work some type of part-time gig and was wondering how I would pull it all off.

Thanks again for sharing your story and welcome back to the wonderful world of Raw.

Blessings.
