Hi all,
Monday I start my 30-day challenge of 100% RAW. I've been working towards this for the past couple of weeks.
Anyway, I know when I eat high raw and go through mild detox, bad breath is one of them. I work very close to my students and wonder what you used during this time to freshen your breath? I think I read once, chewing on some herb, was it parsley?

Hi Helen,
You can add fresh mint leaves to your drinking water. Just place some in the bottle and sip throughout the day.

Thanks Alissa & Edda,
I'll try this. Do I just put in a whole leaf in my water bottle?

I came accross something here in Switzerland called fenoui which I think is fennel bulb. I have found it to be quite amazing after eating it because I feel like I have brushed my teeth! It doesn't make breath minty fresh (obviously) but I think it does freshen it and help your mouth to feel clean. It would be interesting to try eating that along with putting some mint leaves in your water. I bet that would make your breath nice and fresh!

Thanks Corky :)
Also thanks again for all the tips. Tomorrow I'll go to Wild Oats and get some mint leaves.
My last 2 days have been real close to 100%. I think I'm ready for tomorrow. I took my picture today and will probably put it up tomorrow. I can't believe what 20 pounds can do to one's looks!!!!!!

Another idea is to use a plastic tongue scraper. You can usually get them in the toothbrush aisle. Some of the bad breath comes from crud detoxing through the tongue, so scraping that away (from the back of the tongue especially) can help.

Hi Melanie,
I had heard that too about the tongue scraper. Maybe I should use that in conjunction with the mint leaves in my water. Like I mentioned, I get extremely close to my students and nothing is worse than talking to them and they are trying to avoid the awful smell -

I have used a tongue scraper for years.....at least once a day. I think it really helps.
