Hi,
so I will not post the whole thing and have changed my real name. I asked the newspaper if they would do an article on me and Lyme disease. I told the reporter a TON of stuff. I honestly did not think that the raw food diet would get put in there, but it did! I am struggling with raw right now. Some days I do really good, then when I get stressed, I don't do as well.
Anyhow, here is the clip about the raw foods!
"In 1998, although she was tested for Lyme disease, a doctor in Norwalk misdiagnosed her with chronic fatigue syndrome.
"I learned that Lyme likes to hide in the bones and brain tissue, so it's not easy to detect it," Smith said.
For the next three months, Smith had to give herself shots twice a day. She also was forced to quit college.
The result was an increase in panic attacks.
"I gave up after three months," she said.
Instead, she began seeking alternative methods.
"I went on a raw food and vegan diet," she said. "I was juicing carrots and apples and taking natural supplements."
Her health was restored, Smith said, and her energy slowly started to return."
Now I kind of strayed with the raw foods and I wasn't on any antibiotics and I never got to 100% on raw when I was on it, but I was probably 90% which is fantastic for chronic lyme. I'm trying to incorporate some medicine and raw foods to get well, but the antibiotics make my heart a little crazy, but I do feel better on them.
Anyhow...just wanted to share the raw foods part, esp where I live (midwest), hardly ANYONE here knows the difference between raw or cooked!
Take care,
Ocean
