I searched RFT for a thread about this and didn't find anything, but is it possible to eat too many greens in a day? Even if they're rotated? I'm just wondering because I've been eating ALOT in salad and smoothies and I feel really tired. Maybe I'm just detoxing, or it could be allergies. Also, I'm just curious. :)

Greens tend to be grounding so it COULD be. I think if that is what your mind immediately went to when you thought about how tired you have been, it must be so. Listen to it. Eat more fruit for energy, and to help you through the detoxification.

Thanks! I'll try upping my fruit intake and see if it makes a difference.

You should actually eat more fruit than you do greens, and if you do that, you should be fine.

I eat a lot of greens, and I find they are the food that gives me the most energy and helps me with my mood the most.

Just my opinion but I would say greens were the last on the list of possible culprits for tiredness, also, you'd have to be eating MASSIVE amounts of greens for it to be too much, and I'm not even sure that's possible!

Are you getting enough sleep, water, exercise, calories?

Sleep - After a lifetime of insomnia, yes, I'm sleeping better than ever now that I'm eating mostly raw food, I actually feel tired enough to sleep at night and wake up fairly easily. It's wonderful. :)

Water - oh, yeah. Constantly drinking water.

Exercise - I could use more of that, I've been doing yoga but not everyday. That's a goal I'm working up to. I walk a lot but it's been extremely hot here in Norcal the past few days so have been outside less.

Calories - I eat a lot - including fruits, veggies, nuts and avo. Maybe too many nuts? IDK. I'm not 100% raw yet but I would say at least 75-80% is raw while the other portion is healthy vegan food.

I have a feeling that if you upped your raw percentage, you would feel less tired. Add in some more raw foods and let the cooked food fall away.

Lots of greens are great!

Every time I eat something cooked (and it's really only a little at a time, not a whole meal), I feel extremely sluggish the next day. In contrast, 30 minutes after drinking my green smoothie in the morning, I feel full of energy.
