They there!

I haven't used an online forum in ages, but this place just caught my attention.
It's awesome to see so many people have had their lives changed by making such simple decisions...

Raw food has done a lot to change my life for the better...
I stopped consuming meat about 2 years ago and became 98% (taking into account very minor "exceptions") vegan.
However nothing has compared to my past 4 months of raw food. From eating fresh fruits, veggies, raw nuts, and seeds I have reached the best physical fitness of my life... and I'm only 20 years old. It makes me excited just to have such a great outlook! Not to mention I spend less $$ and I just plain and simply don't "worry" about food anymore!
Raw food to me = Life. Plain and simple.

I have never been a very overweight person... although at my peak around my junior year of high school I had become considerably inactive (apart from my part time job... at a CHICKEN joint...) and turned to junk food because I felt so overwhelmed with other issues in life and didn't seem to think much about the consequences. I got to over 200 and began to feel down.
I'd always been an active kid, although I was born with the tibia bone missing in my left leg. I grew up an amputee, and never let it "stop" me from anything. Always out biking, tree climbing or whatever... and it never did stop me until I got to the end of high school and turned to junk food (I always liked everything, eg fruits, veggies as well as JUNK).. and after a few months I developed for the first time in my life a Staph infection in my lower extremity. It's too complicated to list all the details, but to sum it up the way I was eating (and not being active) was not helping me at all.

It's been nearly three years since then and I've been on a long journey...
It's always been mainly about health for me, when I eat better I feel and perform better in life in every aspect. Along the journey I have felt such a connection to the world around me, and it makes me more aware of the decisions I make. Needless to say my view on the processed food industry and culture, meat, dairy, and all in between has been brought into light.

I feel relieved because I know I will never have to worry about my health in the same way again, I can keep eating the AMAZING flavor and variety that the land offers and know it will keep me going strong. I have my whole life ahead of me.
As for activity, I feel like I'm on top of the world sometimes. I'm become an avid swimmer, hiker, and so many other activities I'm now addicted to.

I've gone on rambling... basically, if you are considering/hesitating/preparing going raw... just do it. Your life will take shape and you will learn a lot as you go.
