Hey everyone,
I'm about to start a big organic garden, and am wondering what the best way to obtain seeds is. Is it best to get ones that came from organic plants themselves, or? As you can see I'm a newbie, but have done some gardening in the past and am very enthusiastic. So I'm wondering what the best way is to obtain seeds that are healthy, economical, and environmentally conscious.
Thanks a lot,
Jeffrey

Use heirloom seeds. Get a book on seed saving and keep your own seeds for next year. It's a little time consuming, but saves a lot of money in the long run. A great source is Seed Savers Exchange www.seedsavers.org . You can become a member and get their huge book of people who have seeds. Some of them give them away, if you send a SASE. Check it out.

mountain rose herbs has some of the "rarer" herb seeds like stevia (grow inside though unles syou live in hot climate) and maca, etc. and they are organic. and a well respected company. they also have seeds for "wild" edibles like chickweed and dandelion.

You could also dry your own seeds from the fruits/veggies you eat.
Seeds of Change has the best organitic seeds I have ever used. They grow wonderfully. They have a huge variety and I could not praise them enough! THey have a website and catalog. They are based in Santa Fe New Mexico.
