I have some bananas in the dehydrator for over a day now and they are still mushy. How long until they are crisp?

I have never gotten mine to be non-mushy. The texture is really unpleasant to me so I stopped dehydrating them by themselves.

They are sort of flexible but still dehydrated and RAWlicious.

The very first raw thing i ever made was dehydrated banana chips in my mom's oven several years ago.
I think i had them in there at the lowest temperature possible (only the light on) for about 20 hours, and then they were brown and still sticky.

BUT i left them to cool off on the balcony and around the house and the hardenedafter a while. Ok, they were still a little chewy, but hard on the outside.
And i have to sat that they're still one of the most delicious things i've ever had. Fudgy, sweet, chewy, soooo flavourfull.. If i ever get a dehydrator i will definitly make these again!

the banana chips from the store are fried or something in oil and alot of times coated with sugar too. so i dont think you will have much luck getting them crispy in the dehydrator. fruit-leathery, but not crispy. check out the ingredeints on a pack of banana chips--its usually coconut oil, sugar or honey and sometimes even "banana flavor" along with the bananas. so, hard to replicate :(

But, kaybee, i have to add that there's absolutley no need to try and replicate the store-bought kind, bc home made are delllllllicious, they're a completley different thing, they're mama natures gift to raw foodies with dehydrators!
