I am not quite 100% raw, but strive to be here very soon.
We went out to eat a few times this weekend and I have been avoiding white flour and had some white flour this weekend. I just about died after I
ate it. I had cramps and said I was not going to do that EVER again. Next time I go out, salad just suits me just fine.
I felt like I had a brick in my stomach.
Anyways, onto my post. I have been 85% raw for a month now and just weighed and measured on Saturday. I've lost about 17 pounds in that months time. Do you all think this is a good rate of weight loss? If I were to go 100% raw, would it come off even faster?
I know I should not be obsessed with the weight loss aspect of eating healthy, but I do need to loose weight and overhall just get healthier.
Oh, I have also noticed I've been having some dizzy spells the past few days. I know that when I was pregnant with my third child that I had very low blood sugar, it kind of feels the same as that. What could I do to help with that?
Ok, sorry for the long post, but I've got tons of questions on my journey too raw foods!

Thanks!
Pam

VegggeeeMom,

Wow that is a lot of weight for 85%, congratulations!

If you're worried about low blood sugar, go to your local pharmacy and get a testing kit. The kits are pretty cheep $20-$40. It's the test strips that are expensive, but if you're concerned that you are hypoglycemic it is worth the peace of mind to know for sure. These kits are made for diabetics, but they work just as well for low blood sugar.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS.

How wonderful for you. (assuming of course, that you want to lose weight)

Going 100% raw is always good, and who says you can't be obsessed with weight loss? If that is what you want, then great.

Raw is much more than weight loss, but that doesn't mean you can't be excited about it.

I certainly am.

Now, for the dizziness, vinegar, about 1 tsp full, and that should make it all better.

Or at least that is what my mom told me.

I would think if vinegar would work, then many lemon or lome juice would too, as they are all acids, but she always said vinegar, so that is what I did. always worked for me.

I lost 40 pounds my first two months of 100% raw, tossed out my scale, so have no idea how much I've lost, but assume it's around 60 pounds or more, as It has been 6 months raw now, off and on, when I am on 100% raw, I am feeling wonderful, when I eat anything cooked, (ICK) I feel like I ate a brick and have indigestion.

so, you are doing so very well, it is always great to hear about people's successes.

WOW! That is absolutely wonderful!! I mean, WOW. Congratulations and keep up the awesome progress. That is so encouraging to hear.

Also, I don't have any info about low sugar, but I have read about a position you're supposed to stand in if you feel you might pass out. Cross your legs tightly at the knees and stand straight up. so your legs are in a really tight X. I am not sure how it works but you might try it:) God bless you on this awesome journey!

Thank you all for your words! I am already loving this place! I think I may have just found my new home message board!!! :)
Well, considering I am overweight and need to tone up my body! I am so wanting the weight loss!
Rawpriestess, thanks so much for saying that about the weight loss thing. I just hear and read so much, don't be so obsessed about weight loss, don't weigh but once a week, well sometimes I weigh daily and that does help keep me on track as far as not eating too much cooked foods.
I think part of the reason that I've lost as much as I have on the cooked portion is because if I eat bread it is sprouted grain bread only and I think I'm going to have to really watch that, because it is just as bad as regular flour bread for me. I just love bread!
I am going to order Alissa's (hope I got her name right), book here today! I just have to have it and there are some recipes that I just have to make for the end of this month get together. It's a chocolate fest (yuck) and I need to take something to replace all that junk that will be there!
Oh, the vinegar thing is a good idea. I'll have to try it. But, I use alot of lemon and limes already in my every day eating. I eat alot of salads and use lime or lemon juice on that daily, it is the best salad dressing in the world.
