Hey everyone. I am thinking of fast for a few days after I am better from my Bronchitis.

I have a nice brevell juicer and I am wondering how to properly juice greens. I didn't think juicers could really juice greens. Could I mix it with apple or anything to not only make it more palatable but also maybe that will help it run through better? Maybe I could somehow use my Vita mix with the greens to make green juice?

Thanks :)

Adding an Apple is Fine. If you want Juice and have a Juicer the use it. I would use the Vita-Mix for Smoothies. If you used it for Juicing (Vita), you would have to Strain all the Fiber out.

i disagree with spicy. your greens will yield you a much higher amount if you use your vita-mix and then use a nut mylk bag (or a paint strainer bag) and squeeze all the juice out.

you can do any combo you want. i find a little beet with apple, spinach and parsley - and a tiny bit of ginger is lovely!

but no, your breville will probably just move it around, yield you a tiny bit of juice and create a lot of waste.

melissa did a 152 day juice fast with a vita-mix! using a vita-mix for juice is much better than using most juicers ;)

Omg that is the best idea to just use your Vita-Mix for everything! I have a nut milk bag and seriously that sounds so much easier than using my juicer and all the work it takes to clean it!

Got any more great green recipies? Anything I could put to make the greens not so strong besides apples? What is ok to mix with greens?

Thanks everyone!

That is how I always make juice...blend then strain in nut bag...I add apple and also celery if I see I want to soften green. Also ginger can be added. So many things to make it taste yummy!! Have fun.

beet with greens is really really nice as well. as is ginger or garlic. (light on the garlic or the neighbours will be avoiding your house LOL)

I used to use my Breville juicer but there's so much wasted (chunks etc left in the pulp) so I started using my blender to blend apples/greens/ginger/lemon or orange with a little water, then I strain it through my nut milk bag or paint strainer bag and have fabulous green juice, and I can totally squeeze all the juice out of that pulp. It works great for me.
