View Full Version : My juicer showed up today :) - My first non store bought juice ever!!!
I bought an omega 8005 on ebay, (Well I bought the 8003, but that was on backorder and had to get the 8005 or wait forever)
After two weeks, it finally showed up today!!!
I went and filled the fridge with more vegetables and fruits than I have ever in my life had at a single time $78 bucks worth. The guy at check out was giving me strange looks, and the guy bagging it said "Are you making a giant salad for a cookout or something?" My wife replied before I could with "No, just picking up a few things to make dinner" That's when the really strange look came - LOL
I plan to buy from the farmers market from now on, but since I had the juicer here, I wanted to play with it ASAP, and the farmers market here only exists on weekends.
Right now I am drinking 4 big carrots and 3 apples, as I wanted something sweet. It was good!!!
Tomorrow I will try some green juices.

I miss my juicer!!!! Had to send it off to PA to the omega warranty place. It just stopped working. Could go in reverse but not forward. It took UPS two weeks to get it there. I miss it so much I went out and bought a cheapy. Yuck, foamy juice very wet pulp. Yuck. I want my juicer back. I almost said to heck with it and bought a new Omega but then sanity settled in and I sent it off for repairs. I guess it is very unusual for an Omega to break down so I guess I just got a lemon. I hope they fix it soon.......

Will try it soon - I have no ginger on hand and am feeling too lazy to run out today (I can be one lazy bastard)
Breakfast was 2 tomatoes - 4 stalks celery - an apple - 4 carrots - and a half a huge sweet potato
Right now I am on lunch - which is half a bunch of Romain lettuce, 3 carrots, huge cucumber, green bell pepper, a whole head of broccoli - needs some garlic, salt and pepper, but too late for that now - just cleaned the juicer...
Dinner tonight will be Standard American Diet - as we made plans a long while back to go to a restaurant with some friends from out of town. It's my favorite place in the world to eat, so there is no way I will be able to sit there and watch them eat...
Saturday I will be eating badly all day long, as well as getting my drunk on - Sister in law has an engagement party, gonna party.
Other than that, I think I will be doing mostly good with this mostly raw, and mostly vegetarian diet.
I just realized I have consumed more vegis today than I usually do in an entire week... lol
OMG I just discovered how to way over do it with garlic!!!!
I tossed two large cloves in with today's breakfast juice... OMG is it strong!!!
It's almost hot, and feels almost like horseradish on the sinuses, not nearly as hot as horseradish, but I feel it in my sinuses when I drink.
Coming from a standard American diet to this, I was used to throwing in a handful of garlic with everything I cooked. Two large cloves did not seem like much when I tossed it in, I was hoping for a subtle garlic flavor - boy was I wrong!!! lol

On the bright side, you just cleansed your entire alimentary tract of all kinds of pathogens :p

As I drank more, the more I liked it. I think I will be adding garlic frequently.
Anyone ever juice some horseradish? Does that work well?

Great dat ur enjoying it:)
I am still not raw, or even vegetarian. I ate some chicken wings for dinner.
Replacing 2 out of 3 meals with raw foods is still a huge step for me. I am not only a meat eater, but was almost totally carnivore before I got this juicer. Before this thing showed up the other day. I ate less cooked vegetables in one week, than I do in a single raw juice meal now.
I was so into eating meats before, that I actualy traveled to compete, and did very well, at making barbecue. I am realizing that my carnivore side will not die easily, because after two meals of juice today, I had strong cravings for meat and very easily caved in at dinner.
I realize from reading that most people here started out as vegetarian, or vegan, and then went raw. I am starting my journey as almost 100% carnivore. I don't mean to offend anyone here by still eating meat. I am trying to work towards a more raw, or even just vegetarian life... It's just gonna take a while, old habits die hard...

it's okay that you ate them... but on this forum we don't discuss eating meat. (it's in the guidelines for the forum)
everyone comes from a different background... and everyone finds their own 'version' of raw foods. you'll find yours... again and again. :)
as for juicing garlic... a tiny clove is usually enough... but hey, it really kicks parasites to the curb!!!

My bad on that
I had thought it was just posts promoting eating meat, which I am not trying to do, just being honest about where I am...
From now on will just say "I ate CENSORED for dinner" - LOL :)
