Hi all...
Is anyone familiar with Body memories... Painfull events ie traumas from the past stored in the body??
I was wondering, since Im not familiar with massage, which would be a good style to help the body get rid of the memories stored in the cells etc? Im guessing deep tissue, but not 100%.
Also anyone know of anyone good in Los Angeles? But affordable.
Thanks

I know Bikram Yoga helps for that sort of thing.
As for massage I'm not sure. They all feel so good though ;)

Never heard of anything like that. My Body doesn't remember the pain but there are a few scars from the event.

In my understanding, every event or thing that occurred to or in the body, the body remembers. We may not consciously yet our body does.
So sometimes ,while in a massage, the body happenings are worked out. That is sometimes why people cry during a massage. Not even consciously knowing why.

There are a lot of massage modalities that can include 'trauma release' in a session.: . Everything from Reiki and other energy work to deep tissue massage can enable a release from the ''body memory'.
My thought is to start talking to people. I think it is going to happen with the right practitioner. You want to feel safe and in capable hands. I have experienced such releases. I am a trained massagae and polarity therapist myself .With all my training I am still to this day in awe of my own 'trauma' releases. They have taken me by surprise, been somewhat dramatic and released a great deal of energy.
I studied a little of Stephen Levine's trauma release work. Not much. There may be reading material there of some interest for you.
I have also had clients on my table, so to speak, have great releases. For a while i was workig with a group survivors of abuse and had a focus on this. There's basically the intelligence of the body and it will do what it needs to do and its wonderful, in the right hands .
You have a great intention!Good luck!

That's what I do and have done for 22 years now.
As far as "affordable", when I was learning to do this, I did whatever was necessary to create the income to receive the work and learn it including delivering newspapers 6 mornings a week and delivering pizza 4-5 evenings a week. For me, what I received is priceless and well worth the actual price I paid.

No. I only recommend people I've used and I've not used anyone out there.
Thanks Revs
