Do dates go bad? Like expire? How do I tell? I have had these about a week.

they taste like rotten apples and are a little soft.

Where did you store them so that they got bad in a week? I put mine in the freezer or frig and it lasts for quite a long time there.

I bought a 12 pound "case" and kept it in my pantry and worked on this for over 5 mos - and they were good to the last date! (just a cardboard box is how they were stored)

and in the fridge probably will keep for a year or more.
