myself.
Namaste everyone, figured it was about time to get active in a community of raw folk.
My life has undergone an intense transformation in only the past year and a half. In January of 2008 I was working at a bar and going to school full time, I was eating fried bar food and drinking quite a bit, but had begun searching for something more. Moreover, knowing I wasn't about to meet any girls worth dating at the bar I worked at, I thought I'd give yoga a try... I know pretty ridiculous right... next thing I know I'm in love... with yoga. As grace would have it, last April I lost my job, and thankfully was able to trade cleaning services etc to keep going. By June, I was vegetarian, and my summer was spent traveling the country with a Swami assisting him giving meditation workshops. I got back home too late for the fall semester, and was urged to take Dharma Mittra's Life of A Yogi Training, my life had come to revolve around yoga, spirit, and the connectedness with fellow beings.
So come March 31st, I was laying in yoga class, and realized that the first was tomorrow, I thought I'd give the raw diet a shot. I got out of class, called my partner and together we made April our diving in point to 100% Raw. Aside from the occasional toasted nori sheets (no raw ones to be found in Syracuse), and using Tamari rather than Shoyu because it's gluten free, we made it through April and haven't looked back. I'm feeling better than ever, and loving everything about eating raw. It just makes sense!
Anyhow, it's almost final exam time for me... I look forward to sharing in life, learning and rawness with all of you. Many blessings! ~ Dwight
