I guess when I first came here I was kinda shy and didn't plan on sticking around, so I never bothered to introduce myself. But now I know I am here to stay!
I'm Erika. I'm 20 years old and live in a valley of southern Indiana on a dead end road. I have a lot of time to think out here! I love to read and I've always been interested in health and nutrition, so it was only a matter of time before I stumbled upon David Wolfe's Nature's First Law, which soon led me to Raw Food Real World and all those other wonderful raw "cook"books. I made the switch right away. It went well for 2 whole months! Right now I'm not 100%, but I am comfortable with where I am. And I can't get enough of this message board! I've never felt so comfortable and welcome in any group of people (I'm shy, and very nervous). So, thanks for all the help and support! I'm here to stay:)

congratulations! it's great you can still live in the country and feel so connected to everyone else. I wish I could get away from the city and office buildings and traffic. :) Do you guys farm or ranch at all?

Veronica - We have 20 acres out here, most of them wooded, but still with plenty of space to for vegetables. We are slowly working our way up to 'farming' but right now we are more like 'gardeners'. We are building a chicken coop right now and soon we will have a couple goats. I planted a decent sized garden of my own just for green juice - very excited about that:) I still go to the city to work my stinky coffee job (because there are no jobs around here), but all other hours of the day I'm a country girl!

Ruffsongraw - I'll explain my screen name if you explain yours! Although, mine doesn't really have an explanation... Indiana is wonderful, especially this time of year! Well, any time of year! Well, the Wolfe book I read wasn't like a commercial at all. I can't say I loved it or anything, but it opened my eyes to other raw books that I do love. Thanks for the welcome!

And thank you, spicyfull. Nice world you've got here:)

stinkyb--
Ruffsong is our ranch name. we have 20 acres too! my grandfather raised and raced thoroughbreds. one of his horses was named Ruffsong. he was one i really liked. we had a rough start acquiring our land & my husb and son both play guitar, so it is our ranch name (www.ruffsongranch.com). then i just changed ranch for raw on here. i just started my 1st veggie garden this year!

welcome, goodluck & explain away!
