Hello all I need advice. I've been exercising and running short when it comes to endurance. I at times have very little energy. My goal is to start running and I'm trying very hard not to try the drinks loaded with caffiene. Is there anything that I can do to have more energy before a workout? Should I add something to my green smoothies? Please Help!

Maybe try making them bigger, add more greens or fruit and other ingredients. Many add superfoods or powders like Vitamineral Green or Sun Warrior Protein Powder.

How long have you been RAW? Your lack of Energy could be Detox.

.... I'm trying very hard not to try the drinks loaded with caffiene.

Do or don't do... there is no try.

I work out quite hard (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxx1yKNUznQ) and have NEVER added anything with caffeine to my food program. Not knowing what you're eating/drinking/doing, hard to suggest to you what to do ~ or not ~ other than NOT to drink caffeine. (depending on your health outcome/intent).

FWIW, I found that the first three weeks or on raw food, I felt a little weak in the gym. But that passed, and what I have found extremely helpful is really simple - green smoothies with chia seeds and hemp protein powder. No caffeine or anything else needed - these are naturally nourishing and energizing all by themselves. That initial period of tiredness I attributed to detox and adjustment to a much-higher raw diet.
Bottom-line, stay away from those caffeinated/energy drinks. The 14-year-old-niece of a friend of mine has already had to have gall bladder surgery because basically she was living on these common energy drinks - yikes! That's what the doctors attributed her troubles to. Her dad, shall we say, has less-than-ideal sense of responsibility for his daughter.
Real raw food rocks! Give it a serious go...

My diet consist of mostly Green Smoothies and Fruit honestly I don't think I'm eating enough. My exercise session is pretty intense and my appetite for food has went down a bit. I've added a double shot of wheat grass to my diet and that kills my appetite for hours.

But lately I find myself craving cooked food. Is it b/c I'm not eating enough Raw food? I also noticed that I'm not drinking enough water so I have a gallon jug sitting at my desk right now. Maybe I'm not adding enough fruit to my smoothies.

Example Smoothie.

2 big handful of Organic Mixed Greens
Sometime spinach added or Collards
1 Mango
1 Banana
Cup of Pineapple
3 tsp of ground flax
2 tsp of flax oil
Hand full of berries (depends on what I'm feeling like for the day)

Also I don't always get to eat before my spin class so there are times I'm in class on an empty stomach. It's at 5:30am sometimes I'm rushing to get there. During the day I may have a salad or snack on some fruit. Three days out of the week I do weight training and cardio 5 days out of the week. But now I don't have energy.

Help!!! Suggestions.
