I just made this today, and I'm telling you guys.. it was incredible!!! Trust me, you will not be disappointed.. I think I now know what fantastic feels like.. :p

It is from Ani Phyo, maybe it has been posted before but here goes:

Chocolate Milk Shake
makes 4 servings

Almonds are blended to make my dairy-free milk. It’s sweetened with dates, spiced with vanilla bean and raw cacao powder, then kissed with coconut oil for extra richness.

Holy cow, you won’t believe this is dairy-free, cruelty-free, sugar-free, guilt-free, vegan, vegetarian, raw food, good for you and the planet. Live green.

* 1 cup almonds
* 1/2 cup pitted dates
* 1/2 vanilla bean, or 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract, alcohol free
* 2 tablespoons cacao powder
* 2 tablespoons coconut oil, liquid
* 3 cups water

Place all ingredients in your high speed blender, and blend until smooth.

Ps. I don't know if you are supposed to, but I drained the chocolate milk from the chocolate-almond-pulp. Later one can make some sort of candy with the chocolate almond-pulp! :D Two different desserts in one making! I would suggest that you drain the chocolate milk from the almond-pulp, because the milk tasted so much better without the pulp!

(sorry if my english is not correct, I'm from Norway obviously, so if you see any bad english, just blame my english teacher haha ;) )

ENJOY people!!

Do I soak the dates first?
Thanks...

No, you don't have to soak them! :)

I've definitely been in a funk today, and this may be just the treat to treat myself out of it with!

Thx for the recommendation!

I don't have any dates on hand.....((read my post in the personal growth section if you want details, :D))

So I'll be subbing in some raw honey.......should be good.

Likely no need to strain with the mighty vitamix - I have an cheapie blender now so I will strain too - and make a dessert for later with the pulp!

Sounds great....the one I make is very similar but I make the milk first and strain, then add the rest to process...throw in several frozen bananas and we're talkin'! :D

I used 2 tablespoons of honey - pretty tasty.

I might use 3 if making it for the kids.

The dates are probably way tastier. I need to order some!
