Went to a raw talk last night. Learned about maca, goji berries and a few others that were interesting. at the end of the talk they served a coleslaw using pineapple, raisins cabbage apples and I believe raw apple cider vinegar with agave. Does this sound about right? Would love to make it. Anyone have a recipe for something similar? :)

I feel so great! I'm thriving with energy, even though i'm on my period and i took a painkiller, which usesually makes me completley sedated.
Woke up at 6.30 am totally awake, but i didn't wanna get up and wake all my roommates up. But still, waking up at 6.30 is pretty amazing!

The foods i've had today are.:

B - buckwheat un-cereal w mylk (soaked buckwheat, almonds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, banana, rasins and pumpkin seeds), Detox tea
S - 1 apple, 1 pear and TWO STRAWBERRIES!!! the first ones i've had this year! bliss!
L - salad with parsley, rocket, lentil sprouts, tomato and avocado w lemon dressing
S - 1 mango, 1/2 banana and a few dates

I no longer feel constipated, which is great, things are moving along as they useually do. Period pains useually gets things going inside, so hopefully i'll have no more hard poop

One great side effect is that herbal teas taste so much better now! I used to not like them very much, but the detox tea i'm having every day now is soooo good! So i'm gonna start trying more sorts of herbal, and throw out my old teas.

Peace

Alissa has a couple of recipes for cole slaw in her book. I'm sure you can find one to your liking there.

Springtime, I'm glad your're feeling better. Reading your posts remind me of when I was still having periods. They were so bad I had an hysterectomy. My period days were filled with torture. Wonder if Raw would have helped at all?

Greetings All: I woke up feeling not so hot. Sore throat, headache and tired. Last night I was in bed by 8:00 p.m., so tired I could not keep my head up and noticed that I did not want food. So, I think detox is hitting me again. Anytime I am 100% for more than two weeks it starts up. Well, I guess this is a good thing so I'll just flow with it.

Last night I played around with a recipe I had been wanting to make for a long time: Strawberry cheese cake. OH MY GOD!!!!!! It was sooooooo good. I skipped dinner and just had a slice of this instead. Can we say heaven. I am taking some to a friend today because I've been telling her for awhile that I was going to make this cheese cake and I'm so proud of myself that I finally did it!!!!

Today is in the 80's here in No. California and Spring has finally arrived. We always get a late spring here. So, it is a beautiful day to be Raw. Here is what I'll have today:

Pre B: Two glasses of lemon water
B: GS: Spinich, Mango, Bananna, Orange, Rejuvelac, Hemp Protein Powder and Hemp Seeds
B2: Blueberry/Cocunut Scone w/Honey Butter & Blueberry Jam
L: Portabello Mushroom Guacamole Boat, Marinated Spinich
S: Pear, Grapes
S2: Two Almond/Walnut/Fig cookies
D: Strawberry/Almond Milk/Bananna/Vanilla Bean Shake

Happy Mother's Day to the all the Mothers!!!!!

Blessings All.

Hi,

I'm not feeling so well, today. Had quite a stomach ache earlier on which has fortunally stopped, now. I could imagine that my stomach is not quite used to so much fibre, or maybe there has been something going on for a while and it's only now comming to the surface.
Only had a few pieces of pineaple (then the pain started) and now, as it is better, a pear. Don't think, I'm going to do any sports today, but maybe a little walk to the lake where it would be much more pleasant to recover than in my appartment.

Hope you feel better Cerellia. The walk to the Lake should help quite a bit.

Checking in for day 9. In the middle of 36 hour duty. Blah.
Had my first baby coconut today! I feel like the coconut queen. I was expecting it to be more difficult to crack. I am used to mature Florida coconuts.
Today I woke up without any pain in my left foot,:)

I did not get to post the last two days due to my server being down.

It has been pretty good going. I have had two bites of meat to test it before my kiddos ate it--it was not appealing at all. That is pretty cool. I even spit out the steak- not because of my cooking! Ha! Husband will be home soon to be the test taster. It is not bothering me so much to cook for them and uncook for me.

I have enjoyed veggies so much more. I have been doing a lot of smoothies with a very busy schedule so that is success too. The green smoothies are working great for keeping cravings at bay.

I am now down 6 pounds. That is pretty cool. I have 10 to go. I have not been exercising as much as I need to so I am pleased. I feel good. That is a huge motivator. I am also anemic again and this diet is the closest I have been to a normal hemoglobin (yes, this works better than meat for me!) My doctor has even been supportive. Pretty cool. My next blood test is in July so I cannot wait to see how much I have improved. Yeah for getting healthy!

Had some potato chips yesterday....was feeling very weak and caved to the smell of them. That has been my only slip up from raw since 3/24/09 and I guess I needed it to remain strong to why I am eating a raw diet. Tomorrow is another day and this day is done.

Today is much better than the last following days, i feel some relief from fatigue, finally slept through the evening without disturbance or just laying in bed tossing and turning (it is a start ;)). My skin is showing some signs of clearing but continues to be sensitive. The detox of course goes on, not much i can do but just let it take its course:(

Todays intake is light taking it slow and easy until i build up an appetite to move on to dehydrating and sprouting, do not want to move too fast and my body rejects it.

B: grapes, water.
L: mixed vegetable salad, water.
D: mixed fruit slices, water.

Have a rawsome week ahead :D
