View Full Version : Does Alissa not like Cocoa?

Hi there!

I have just been reading and watching Alissa's amazing book and DVD!

I have noticed one thing - there isn't any recipes with cocoa in them?

Does anyone know why this is?

Some people think raw cocoa is so healthy and others don't, i personally love the taste of it......but i know its not good for me!

I think that maybe raw cacao was not available when Alissa wrote her book and so she uses carob. I expect you can interchange the two but you may need to add a little more sweetner when you use cacao.

Grezzo serves dishes with cacao in them, so I don't think that Alissa is totally against cacao.

I also don't know why you think cacao is bad for you, what's bad is milk chocolate that comes with all the deadly diseases dairy causes plus the sugar. Cacao itself is the #1 highest source of antioxidants, FAR surpassing blueberries by well over 10 times. Cacao also is proven to prevent cancer and heart disease and I believe diabetes also (milk chocolate causes these 3 diseases).
