Hi there!

I have been reading about raw honey and how it is antibacterial and antimicrobal (hmm my spelling isnt great sorry!).

Well........would it make sense that you could have raw honey on candida diet, i know it is a sugar but.......?

I am on 3 day of a 100% raw diet with a bad case of candida.

on Alissas DVD she says candida will be gone in two weeks if on the diet 100%.

Anyone out there agree or have experience with it going that quickly?

Bye and thank you!

Check out http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/fruitreport.pdf for clarification on fruit, sugars and there's an article on its affect on candida as well. It will clear things up for you.

I've seen candida symptoms improve on a 100% raw diet. But the only way I've seen candida go away is on a total no-sugar diet. So, if you want to do a no-sugar raw food diet, honey and all sweet fruits are a no-no.

Had candida challenges for a long time before raw(I loveeeed the sweets_. When I went raw, with green smoothies and agave as my only sweetener ,well, besides fruit, my body sugar and such all balanced out. Lots of coconut oil (anti fungal)too helped I am sure.

I trust raw to balance all this stuff as long . I also tell my body that this wonderful food is creating balance and harmony. It works!!!

How do you know if you have candida?

p.s. I cannot afford to go to any doctors that are outside of my insurance. My insurance only covers an MD or DO.

google the candida spit test for a picture of what your spit will look like in a glass of water if you have candida... Every single person has candida, it is a life saving organism that eats up excess sugar in the blood when your insulin production cannot handle it. This is only a problem when there is fat in the blood as it blocks your body from processing the sugar quickly and taking it to immediately nourish cells, it sits in the blood with the fat and then the candida eat the sugar and you get yeast problems as it's growing and expanding to protect you.

You don't have to be on no sugar like fruit, but definitely not honey. Honey isn't really ideal for most people as it acts like regular sugar. Agave is better, regardless of all the arguments.

I have been struggling with Candida and I did the "Candida Diet" of no sugar and it did not go away. My symptoms remained and I really struggled with itcyness, YI's, etc. I have been following Frederic Patenaude and doing low-fat raw-vegan diet now for a couple of weeks and my symptoms are almost completely gone. :)

Candida, we all have it.
The problem is that Americans and other 'developed' nations eat a diet very high in refined carbs and sugars. Incredibly high. So most Americans have a massive over abundance of Candida. I eat RAW honey with no ill effects. I don't eat gobs of it.
If you are actually experiencing the side effects of Candida, such as itchy, raw areas, discharge, try the more simple diet, raw fruits and vegtables for a couple of weeks.

You will know the day the die off occurs.

they have over the counter tests at Walmart and such places. Look on the shelf and if you don't see it, ask the staff.
