I just wanted to share this with you guys!
http://www.naturalvisiontherapy.com/pinhole_glasses.html
Last night at a raw potluck at a local health food store I tried these pinhole glasses to help train your eyes to naturally focus and correct themselves. I have been wearing my glasses this week to give them a break from contacts as i have an eye assessment on saturday for a laser eye surgery quote. (Now I don't even want to consider getting it done at all)
But after noticing that i can read up close without glasses at all and trying these pin hole glasses for even 2 minutes my eyes were thanking me, when i put my glasses back on i had a headache the rest of the night. Even this morning i took them off to drive to work because it felt better, i can see everything fine, just not read small printing or signs etc (it was a very short drive, dont worry) so now I am considering getting them. You wear them for 5-10 minutes a day while reading to train your eyes to relax and naturally focus down the center instead of splaying out to your peripheral vision.
Best of all these cost less than $30 bucks! So I'm ordering some asap. Some people may want to change their lenses of regular glasses to a lighter prescription or get step down glasses depending where you're at for perscription. Just a few minutes made a huge impact on me for strain relief.
Opticians prescribe us lenses that are 20 times stronger at 1ft than we need, our eyes strain and thats why every few years your vision is worse and you need stronger and stronger prescriptions as your eyes are fatigued!
You can also do a little test to simulate the glasses a little bit. Take off your glasses or contacts and cut off your peripheral vision and cup your hands from your cheek bones and don't strain your eyes, but see if anything is more in focus or if your eyes feel more relaxed.
It's really cool!

I have very impaired vision.
I can't function without my glasses, or at least can't really practice yoga because of the resulting balance off-set, drive or read without 'em.
But if I practice the Bates method, are you supposed to give up your glasses while you're doing it? I don't know how I could do that. I'd do rk laser surgery if I could afford it.

I haven't read the bates method yet. but for the past 16 years i've worn glasses or contacts every single day for every single thing. I never thought i could go without them. Today i took them off and have been working for about 2 hours without them, i went to put them back on and im like WOAH these are way too strong, and it hurts my eyes. It's very interesting, my eyes were so used to being conditioned to strain they never focused naturally. Now that i am letting them try i'm finding my vision isnt as bad as i thought it was. I can still read perfectly up to two feet away from my face.
Even just try cutting off your peripheral vision for a bit, without your glasses and see if your eyes feel more relaxed. It's really cool.
When you get these pin hole glasses u wont be able to continue using current glasses as your vision will improve and it'd be too strong.

does it work for nearsightness or farsightedness or both? what about astigmatism?
thanks

awesome! I want to give these a shot. I've been noticing I've been squinting more and more lately. I really wanted to get my eyes checked, but $30 for pinhole glasses is heck of a lot cheaper than an office visit + glasses!

This is exciting!
I stopped wearing my glasses/contacts about a year ago and my vision has improved. I have been wondering about this concept as the doctor used this type of thing on me to test my vision.
I Googled this and found lots of sites out there...some cheaper than the one you listed. Is there a reason you prefer the site you listed?

I listed this one as i physically tried them last night and got a brochure. That was the only reason. I had not googled anything like that previously.

Journey of Health had a demo pair, and Cody showed them to me, but he suggested I order from them, as he only had pamphlets on them as he just came accross the recently.

aww now i'm blushing. :o
I've worn contacts for the past 10 years and they always bothered me, like there was dirt in my eye so i constantly rubbed my eyes and felt scratchy and when I heard Victoria Boutenko say that raw can help you correct your vision naturally, I thought why not try.
Living SAD gave me so many annoying things! -being over my ideal weight, flakey skin, dandruff, break outs, bad nails and cuticles, gingivitis, poor tooth enamel and extreme sensitivity, constant caveties, poor eye sight, poor digestion, constant phlegm and stuffiness, constant fatigue, nightmares, sensitivity to skin products
How ridiculous is it to assume all of those things are normal, so I love being able to apply raw and natural hygeine to everything that makes living uncomfortable so i can change it and live with more peace!
I try to explain to my family that the amount of annoying things you get from eating whatever you want is not worth it and raw tastes better, but they honestly laugh and think i'm silly or paranoid to think "minor" things like that bother me so much.
You guys know better ;)

This is an interesting read. Here is part of it
In 1992, the Missouri Attorney General obtained a consent injunction and penalties totaling $20,000 against a New York company that sold "aerobic glasses." These glasses, which sold for $19.95 plus postage and handling, had black plastic lenses with tiny holes. The company's ads had claimed that its "Aerobic Training Eyeglass System exercises and relaxes the eye muscles through use of scientifically designed and spaced 'pin dot' openings that change the way light enters the eye." The company had also advertised that continued wear and exercises should enable eyeglass wearers to change to weaker prescription lenses and reduce the need for bifocals or trifocals.
Opticians and ophthalmologists pressured the FDA into conducting an armed raid of Natural Vision International in Manitowoc, WI for selling Vision Improving Eyeglasses (aerobic pinhole glasses). The FDA, along with two federal marshals, seized 17,000 pairs of pinhole glasses. The charge was that the product was a misbranded medical device and that NVI had failed to file a premarket application with FDA. It was also charged that some of the claims may not have adequate substantiation (italics added). NVI stated that a pinhole is not a lens. The outcome was that, although NVI submitted hundreds of testimonials from satisfied customers, the FDA drove them out of business by confiscating WITHOUT A COURT ORDER their stock of books and pinhole glasses with a retail value of over $200,000. The glasses were taken out to the local dump and buried. The parent company, Hammacher, Schlemmer & Company of Chicago, IL, had previously been forced to issue a recall (#Z-655-2) by letter of November 26, 1991. Of 9,550 pairs distributed, 7,700 remained on the market after the recall. For some reason, the armed raid mentioned above was carried out later, on May 20, 1992. For a list of this and other outrageous raids by the FDA, see FDA Raids.

What can I say... there is no doubt in my mind that the FDA and medical community are all about money and keeping everyone in the medical system. That's pretty ridiculous

UGGGH! I get told so many times a week by my patients at work "Enjoy your youth, don't get old!" and this is by people who are only in their 40s! I wish I could tell them to just eat RAW and those symptoms will go away...!

Are you sure they aren't just incorrectly made knockoffs? The spacing is supposed to be specific.

i ordered the medium size. let's just say as soon as i get some money i need to get a reduced prescription in glasses or contacts cuz i cant exactly wear the pinhole glasses at work and look normal. :) They are relaxing to wear tho because of the decrease and focus on the amount of light entering your eye. I get really bad headaches now with my old prescription straining my eyes

Oooh how very exciting! I'm glad to have found this thread. I keep meaning to "work on my eyes" and try to heal them naturally, but they just end up on the back burner. I try to give them a break from contacts and glasses once in a while, but it's a bit too challenging/dangerous to work, drive, etc. as they are, heh. I just purchased a pair of pinhole glasses off of ebay for less than $5 including shipping...hopefully there won't be too terrible a difference in quality from the distributors linked earlier. I don't know how precise the ideal spacing is, but from the pictures, at least, they appear to be the same. Can't wait to give them a go!

I don't believe it!!
They are amazing!!
I can only imagine how it can only improve after I read the instructions and wear them for awhile if there is this much difference the very first time straight out of the box!
I haven't been able to see my computer screen for 5 years now and as I am typing this I have the glasses on.
(Now I put on my regular glasses and LOOK!! no mistakes.)
I swear I am totally amazed and shoked! I must admit I really didn't think they were going to work but for what they cost, why not try?
I cannot thank you enough for posting about them and posting the link, I am sooooooo grateful. Thank you thank you thank you!!

The ones I ordered from the link Veronica posted were a little less than $30. and that included the manual and the eyecharts and shipping to Canada. They arrived 7 days after I ordered them.
Why anyone would wear glasses when they don't have to or have Lasik surgery, not to even mention the cost involved, mystifies me.
Between that and oil cleansing and RAW I wonder how I've been on this planet for over 50 years and never heard about any of these things till I stumbled on this forum and a whole new wonderful world opened up to me.

I'm so glad you love them. It's very relaxing to wear them as it shades your eyes from having to filter too much light. If i could wear them at work i would, but i'm afraid i would get teased to no end by the guys in my marketing department. I use them at home for watching tv, but i can read anything up close without them. :)

I just ordered a pair of these from the listed website, id rather pay 30$ for the properly measured pin holes than some knock offs.
It almost scares me at the thought of who is keeping this information from us... I hated going to the eye doctor cause I knew I would be moved up a prescription, now here I am at -4.00 near sightedness and just now I have the answer revealed to me. The same goes for raw food, what life could have been like on all raw.
I am lucky, im only 20 have my whole raw life ahead of me, but what about others, who dont know? It scares me

I am nearsighted. I only wear my glasses while driving for obvious reasons. When I cannot see the channel on the television I just use my hands like binoculars and I can clearly see. Basically the same as pinhole glasses - I'm not saying that you could walk around or drive with your hands up to your eyes but it defiantly works. I am a sucker for things like this, I'd also like to hear from someone that has actually had these work for them.

My glasses FINALLY came in the mail today! I bought 2 knock-off pairs for a dollar each off ebay, with $2 or so shipping. They are styled as popular sunglasses, so they shouldn't stand out in public. :) The only negative is the plastic smell, I'll have to stick it near the fruit for a while. ;) I'll post any changes I notice in my vision when they happen for those who are curious.
Here's the style I bought (image from google search):

Years ago, I started working with the idea of reversing poor vision. I bought a few books, and ordered some eye exercises online, of which there are now myriad. Yes, I know about pinhole glasses, but I never bought any. Sure, after doing the eye exercises, my vision is much improved--for a minute or so. Sure, there are random moments of great clarity in my vision, which to me proves that poor vision is not due to a permanent deformity of the eye, as conventional optometry still tries to promote.
Yes, I've probably knocked off .25 or so, from my myopic measurement, from a combination of simply no longer wearing contacts (very unhealthy to have no air getting to your eyes), taking off my glasses to read and sometimes while at the computer if my eyes are 'relaxed' enough to see the screen, and the 'good vision' concepts I've acquired from said materials; however, I'd certainly love to hear that something so simple as pinhole glasses resulted in permanent, greatly improved vision for someone.
The thing that piques my interest the most is what @Sport posted above, about the FDA raiding the company and destroying the glasses. If ever there is proof that something is truly working, an FDA raid proves it!
Now, is there anyone who has perhaps worn these regularly and achieved long-term substantial improvement in their vision?
The rapid increase in people in the U.S. needing vision correction is as alarming as the obesity increase, in my opinion. The majority of Americans need corrective lenses, at this point.

I was very curious about these glasses. So I created my own glasses (stylish blue :D) Made of paper. With a needle i put in one littl hole for each eye. The holes can be a little bit bigger, but when they are too big, it wont work for me.
This piece of paper makes me see!
Normally I would not be able to write or read anything on my computer without putting my nose right in front of it or using my contact lenses. Now I am about 70 cm (27,5 inches) away from my computer and am able to read or write.
I will put my paper glasses on at home every day now, for a little relaxation of my eyes.
Would love to hear more about your experiences.
