Today, for the first time, I made a salad in the morning and brought it to work for lunch. I just ate the salad but it doesn't look or taste very nice. This is the same salad I make for dinner (with spring mix, tomato, onions, avocado, nuts, raisins, hemp seeds and olive oil) and eat immediately, and I like it then (looks and tastes good). But this one was made about 6 hours ago. It got all sticky and blackened and even lost most of its flavor.

Any better ways to prepare a salad to take it to work?

keep the lettuce dry - no oil or anything, and add in hard veggies like red peppers, celery, carrot.

Leave wet veggies like tomatoe, cukes, etc intact to cut them up just before you eat. Then sprinkle on your seeds, drizzle the oil, and enjoy. I also leave the avocado till the very end too.

What I do - since we have a kitchen, is just bring the stuff and do all the assembling at work. Fresh!

We have a fridge so I can leave some of the ingredients here if I bring alot of one thing or another...

No I didn't put it in the fridge after I got to work. I thought it should be okay in the AC for just a few hours (it was there for 6 hours). Do you put oil or avocado in yours?

I take a basic salad to work in a plastic airtight container in a cool bag. Sometimes I put it in the fridge at work but most often I dont and it has always been fine. I use cherry tomatoes but I do chop up my cucumber. I take a bottle of home made dressing which I keep in the fridge at work and add at lunchtime.

Hope you get it sorted, its nice to have a good salad for lunch.

Trust Me......all you need is a little time and that same Salad will look Good to you also. After being RAW for a while, Looks and Taste don't have to be No.l as long as we know what's in it and its RAW and you are Starving.

Maybe a small ice-pack in your lunchbox will help... I've been taking salads to work for years and I get comments from my co-workers how pretty my salads are- just chop up ANYTHING and put it in your salad- the more colors the prettier (and tastier).

I'm not crazy about avocado on my salads for some reason (it's a texture thing) so I can't help you there...
