I was reading that 80/10/10 book...which is actually an amazing book (I highly recommend it), and in it was a testimonial of a woman who gave up all soap, toothpaste, lotion, ect. after going on 80/10/10. She said her hair was never better, and her teeth had never been whiter.
Has anyone given up all processed things (not just food)? Has anyone considered it?
I've been doing it for two days and it is actually very freeing and natural.

Have done this on and off for quite some time. Clean with vinegar and such. Wash with water and no toothpaste. Simple is good.
I do love to find nice clean ready made supplies as they are fun and nurture me in some way. And that way, I support the makers of same.

I tried the CO face washing for a while. Didn't work to well for me, but perhaps my diet at the time had something to do with it...

I have just started using almond oil instead of cleanser, and a raw moisturiser consisting mostly of raw cacao butter.
Other than that i feel like i need to wash my hair with something. I tried not washing it in the past, but it got terribly greasy and flat.
Also, i work in healthcare and it's sort of part of my job to wash my hands all the time, because i'm continuosly exposed to quite nasty things, as well as using hand disinfectant.
My next step is to stop deodorant, because for some reason i feel my BO is getting more...pleasant..? less nasty, anyway ;)

Definately. Going as natural as possible is the goal. Here are some things I use for body care:
Face- wash with olive oil every couple days or so
body- shampoo bar I bought on-line from a lady who makes them with natural products
teeth- I've been trying Dr. Bronners peppermint soap heavily dilluted, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide rinse every 4 or 5 days.
Hair- I'm still working on finding something natural that works for me, but I definately wash my hair less
Moisturizer- Shea butter I whipped up myself- I bought it in bulk on-line unrefined and whipped it in food processor with some sesame oil : )
I also use various oils on my body when I do a self-massage. I use olive or sesame.
Deoderent- Baking soda

Tooth Soap
Jojoba oil and damp hot cloth to clean face and again jojoba oil for moisturizer
No 'poo just cruelty free conditioner
Don't need deodorant anymore (I don't think!)

Yup, it's absolutely amazing how many products we buy and use that we don't actually need.
Hair - warm water, no shampoo, no conditioner. Comb thoroughly with a fine tooth comb every week to bring down the natural oils. My hair has never looked or felt better! You don't NEED shampoo and conditioner!
Body: Cleaning - warm water, though I do have a little Dr Bronner's liquid soap for the underarms I use every other day, but lots of warm water and a flannel does the job for everwhere else.
Body: Moisiturising - coconut oil every week, plus some rose hip oil in the meantime. Plus I take hemp oil internally for skin.
Face: Cleansing and moisturising - I gave up using soap on my face years ago, even the best face soap strips the oils from the skin. I use coconut oil once a week to cleanse and moisturise. I use rosehip oil every couple of days to moisturise face.
I also use a mineral clay mask about once a week to deep clean the pores. And occasionally I'll indulge in a paw paw or pineapple face peel to remove the dead layers of skin.
Teeth - I started using baking soda, but decided I needed to get rid of my Jason toothpaste first (no one in the family except me likes it). I'll be going back to baking soda (maybe mixed with a little powdered calcium) and some hydrogen peroxide every couple of days.
Deodorant - Current using a salt crystal (which is better than the commercial natural deodorant I used to use), but when that is done (it's lasted for years) I might simply use white vinegar (apparently that's good) or make up a salt spray.
On raw, my hair, skin and nails thrive and I need VERY little to help them along. I am amazed at how effective all these things are at making my body soft and glowing, my hair shiny and bouncy. I just CANNOT believe I used to buy so many products and spend so mujch uneccessary money on stuff that i didn't need.
Funnily enough I'm in the middle of writing a blog about natural beauty alternatives and also one on the 'no poo' experiment. They'll be up in a couple of weeks (got a bunch of mineral makeup blogs and some raw recipes to go first).
To everyone - TRY IT!!! :D

I LOVE products. I try to find the most natural ones to use now.
I still use shampoo+condition and conditioning treatments.
I use moisturizers/toners/serums/cleansers on my face and body wash and lotions on my body.
I use tooth soap.
I don't use deodorant though, don't need it. :) I guess I probably don't need all the other things either but I love them. ;)

I haven't used most of that stuff for a long, long time - far preceding my having gone raw.
I have a bottle of Dr. Bronner's liquid peppermint soap that I use for tooth brushing and for the rare need to wash hands with something other than hot water and for far rarer body washing. I have a tiny bottle of very natural, pure, nontoxic, unfoamy shampoo I use probably quarterly, LOL, and other than that I just use water and a bit of coconut oil on my hair.
I have never been accused of being stinky or gross. Quite the contrary, actually. ;)
Actually, when SO takes a shower with all his commercial bath stuff, I have to shut the door to the bathroom and open all the windows because it smells so toxic to me.

My boyfriend use to do this when I took a shower when we first met.
Luckily, I have been able to find non scented natural products now
