Wow, Commoncents!! Can you come and make my meals?? Your day sounds delish!! How do you do the unfriend rice? I seem to be missing the grains lately!!
Today looks like this for me:
B- Green smoothie- romaine, mango, banana, straw/blueberries
S- small apple and a pear (I seem to be hungry in the morings
L- Huge salad (I have TOO MANY greens that I ordered from my co-op). My salad consisted of red leaf lettuce, spinach, raisins, sesame seeds, tomatoes, cucs, red peppers and a dressing I got from Raw Fod made Easy for 1 or 2 people.
S- small apple (I'm eating this now :D )
D- Making some more pai tai.
I need to look at Alissa cookbook and find a pate now that I have all the nuts I need, but I feel like I need some crackers or something for a pate. How else do you eat it? I don't have a dehydrator and the Whole foods store is over an hoyur away (I hope to go this weekend if the kids agree ;) )

Susan: Sure, I would love to make your meals. I love preparing Raw foods and it is my goal to become a raw foods instructor. I got the unfried rice at a Raw restaurant and don't know the exact recipe unfortunately. It is super yummy. It is made with wild rice. There is a recipe for it on a Raw prep CD I have by Ronnie and Minh. I'll dig it out later today and see how they make their unfried rice.
There is a pate that I'll be making of Alissa's for this upcoming week. It is the Sunny Pate on p. 384 of her book. I going to make her flax crackers and put the pate on top of that, but I also like it on top of romaine lettuce.
Blessings.

Myca you sent me an email for my recipe and your profile is set up to not recieve emails so I am posting it here. This is one of my recipes I am putting in my new book.
Mousse Pye:
Filling
3 avocados
3/4 to 1 c raw agave (can use soaked dates in place)
3/4c to 1 c raw coca or carob (carob gives it a dark chocalate flavor)
1/2 tsp vanilla or 1/4 bean
1/2 c to 1 c filtered water
Blend in Vitamix wet blade
Crust
1 1/2 c almonds
1 c dates soaked for 2 hrs
1/2 c shreeded dehydated coconut
pinch of redmonds pink salt
I put the almonds in the dry blade vitamix for smoothness and then transfer almonds to food processor and add all the other ingredients.
For a chunkier crust put nuts in processor and pulse chop for a minute or two and then add the rest.
This pie sets up firm and only needs to be chilled for an hour and if you want to add whipped creem use soaked cashews, agava, vanilla bean and put it in the vitamix wet blade and add watr until it's the consistency you like.
Next time I will take a pic for everyone. Hope you enjoy because we love this. I have tried many pye recipes and this is very good!!

Today was a good day! I got my cacao from the online store, as well as a new mosturizer. I also tried the Oil Cleansing method, which seems to be working fine.
Apart from that, i think i might not have eaten enough, though:
B- butternut/banana porrige w rasins, kiwi
L - Aparagus, carrot, red cabbage, tomato with guacamole and two dates
S - 2 brazil nuts
S - cacao pudding (1 avo, 1/2 banana, 2 dates, honey, cacao)
S - 2 kiwi, 1 orange, 1/2 banana, Detox tea
D - beet-algae salad and a fig
I need to bring a snack to work! (work during lunch hours) i have breakfast at say 8.30, and then i'm not getting my lunch until 2 pm. that's bad, i feel like i really need something more. Get to that tomorrow!
Peace

Thanks for the pate review, commoncents! I wish I had a raw food restaurant around here for some raw wild rice! I do have a NFS that has some food, but when I ordered a smoothie and asked about how they make their "raw almond milk" a few weeks ago the fella told me they substitute with Almond Breeze sometimes. I'm not sure they are the best to help.
Thanks for offering to cook for me- I'll send you my address! ;)

Susan: I feel blessed to live in an area that has so many Raw restaurants. I'll be traveling for vacation in two weeks and am a bit concerned about staying Raw.
Hope you try the Pata and love it. It looks really good.
Hope you have a blessed evening.

well....I can't say I've been 100% raw these past six days, but I am nonetheless dedicated to this challenge and have been learning an enormous amount about my body, my energy patterns, and my emotional attachments to food. The way I see it, I have 30 days to really get it right. Every day gets better though!
For instance today I finally came out and told my friends that I was going vegan! They were like "what? But you already can't eat grains or sugar or more than two fruits a day! What the hell ARE you eating?"
Sometimes I feel the same way. But it's all in my head really. As soon as i sit down with my perfect avacado all my doubts disappear and I know I can easily do this, and that it's right for me.
navigating social situations, as i'm sure you all have found, can be difficult. But I'm finding that people are much more concerned about what they are eating than what I am (or am not) eating. Nobody CARES that I'm not eating the pizza, I discovered.

I have had a great day. I feel very clean inside but very tired. It was hard to resist my steaks I cooked for the fam, but I DID! I acutally had a key Lime Cream recipe from Jennifer Cornbleets' book. It was sooooooo good. I would have made more if I had the ingredients!
Here is what I ate:
smoothie-banana, strawberry and spinach
big salad
big fruit salad
raw Key lime cream
raw pad thai- so good, from Everyday Raw, I believe
Success because I was so hungry (hormones) and I prevailed. If I had not eaten raw, I would have just eaten junk to fill my ravenous appetite. So go me! I stayed at it!

Woo hoo, I am glad today is coming to an end and I have stayed raw !
My stomach is still hurting and feels all blocked up and heavy :(
Also..haven't had my normal energy to work out, so I just paid attention to my body and slept a little longer.
Hopefully these "ailements" will pass soon.
Today was:
smoothie - banana, strawberries,spinach
1 small green apple
medium salad with spinach, romaine hearts, cucs, mushrooms, red onions and peppers, green onions, olive oil
1 1/2 kiwis
another medium salad
1/2 kiwi and cup of strawberries
I think this is not enough calories, seeing that I used maximum 1 tablespoon olive oil on each salad. Ugh, and I'm already full...

I'm going to soak my nuts while at work at make the pate this evening- I've decided some raw foods are not spur of the moment meals!! :D
I don't even want to think about my summer vacation yet (late July). I don't want to be set up eating nothing but iceberg lettuce salads!!
You stay blessed, too!!
