I've purchased Veggie Wash for my non-organic fruit and veges. A friend said he uses bleach (Original Clorox ONLY), one tablespoon per gallon of water, soakes his produce, rinses well, and this does as good a job.
Any thoughts on this or other ideas for cleaning fruits/veggies when you can't get organic?

I use the veg wash since I read a report by The Consumers Association (Independant) that stated that they tested it and it does work. It removes the chimecals and holds them in suspension. I have heard of people using Cloros or Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide. You have to have faith in what ever you use as you cant see the results with your own eyes so I am sticking with the veg wash

Good insight Sport - having faith in what you are using. Somehow I just can't get comfortable with using clorox, even just a teeny bit.

that goes ditto for me on the clorox.
I use Veggie Wash I buy at Whole Foods.
Some people do use hydrogen peroxide (food grade I think?) but I haven't
tried it yet...
