hey everybody,
i have been offline for over a week. i traveled to Wisc (drove from NM!!) to visit my family.
my child-hood neighbor, who is about 70, was diagnosed with MS. (i also have MS---my initial reason for going raw!). i was planning to go over & visit with her and share Alyssa's book, the FoodMatters DVD and the Matthew Grace book. (her son, my age, was ALSO diagnosed with MS which reminds me of Love Canal!!)
well before i was there even one full day, she called ME and asked if i had time to chat with her about MS. WOW, huh?? (no coincidences!)

so i went over and talked to her, told her i was completely off all meds (she was SUPER shocked) and went 100% raw and etc, etc....i gave her some web addys also. she was SO SO reeceptive and open-minded!! REALLY genuinely interested!!
i left all the literature with her and she promised to of course share with her son. i told her that it might not be right for everyone but that Dr's didnt speak about "nutrient therapy" or diet changes and it really IS an option.

i was SO excited to finally talk to a person who was interested and open minded and not just plopping me into the "weirdo" category!!!

just goes to show that sometimes sharing can be a really great thing! this was the 1st time i have had that reaction. : )

just thought i would share b/c so many stay quiet b/c they are tired of negative reactions.

If only a well known celebrity with MS could be brought back to health on a raw diet/juicing, the word could get out.

I would love to see Annette Funicello get her wish to dance again.

Montel Williams has brought the issue to light - to some extent. He promotes a variety of healthy lifestyle choices as his way of reducing the progression of his own symptoms.

What we REALLY need ruffsongraw are more people like you who can blog your results. Keep good records and document this - as you go through this challenge in your life.

Perhaps this could be your mission?

Jen, I have chills running up and down my spine after reading your experience bringing awareness to your friend. That's beautiful! When she heals, she will tell a friend and so on and so forth.

thank you!
i agree, a celebrity who is 100% raw would help. Montel still takes the MS injectable drugs & to me that would counteract the good affects of raw.

i only found out about raw b/c somebody took the chance and shared. i think all of my friends have increased the amount of raw in their diets but overall still eat SAD. even a little bit helps, right?

but this one person was really open to the idea. my mom was there too and altho she is far from raw, i think it also hit a chord with her as she saw somebody besides me take the information in with an accepting attitude & be hopeful/positive. this lady used to bike ride and all sorts of healthy activities and now her left side is entirely weak and crumpled in. its sad. i believe she will do it and as long as she is patient for results, it will happen. not sure if she will discontinue the awful weekly injections or not..... they obviously have not stopped her progrssion of disability. she has slowly gotten worse. i hope i planted a seed. now it wil be up to her and her son to grwo it.

thx for the comments!!

:)
