in Ontario. I was wide awake somewhere around 2 a.m. so I got up and read more about raw food on the computer until about 5 a.m. and then slept until 7a.m. Then I went for a good walk.

So far today I've had a Green Smoothie with
spinach
pineapple
mango
lemon
fresh ginger
ice

The ginger overpowered this drink. But I'll keep learning. And I'm drinking it all anyway.

Noon: "Best Raw Coffee Ever"

Late afternoon: a true Green Smoothie with:

1 clove garlic
1 tomato
3 organic celery stalks
frozen beet greens (I think that's what it was)
1 tsp kelp powder
1/2 cucumber

Not sure if I'll be able to get this down though - I could if it were just juice but this is a bit much - kind of thick texture. I'm trying - trying to fix me with all this healthy greenery!

Well, I actually drank the whole green smoothie but I did not like it - yuk! I even added some frozen grapes and it didn't help much. I didn't combine very carefully today and I am a bit bloated and gassy but no matter. Everything I had was RAW. I just finished up the day with a salad with tomato, red onion, romaine, iceberg, cuke and about 6 walnuts and a horrid dressing

I am happy because I have energy, my mood is up and I was successful! I wish you all a good raw day.

Sue.

Ughh! So discouraged. I gained 3 more pounds since cleanse ended. I usually only gain 2-3lbs back. This time I've gained back 7lbs. So discouraged!! This makes for an interesting challenge.

Eating only veggies and fruits makes me super hungry. I had to add nuts just to get that full feeling.

I'm hoping the pounds begin to melt off. I did eat super late last night. I had cucumber, tomato, onion salad at 10pm. I usually try to finish eating around 8pm.

Made icecream from Rawfood Real World. It takes like cake batter. I only ate 1/2cup. I had to use up some young coconuts I had laying around.

Alyssa's Eggplant Parm looks divine. Hope I'm able to make it one day.

commoncents=Thanks for your words of encouragement. I need every little bit.

Breakfast: Smoothie with romaine, spinach, banana, cucumber
Snack: 1/2cup ice cream
Lunch: Big Salad with nutritional yeast and salt as dressing
Snack:Watermelon
Dinner: GM Smoothie. Have a date. So just leaves on a plate

Way to go mstrish!!!!

Last night I took a sleeping pill to sleep because I was so depressed. I used to be addicted so that was not good. Woke up this morning feeling a bit better and I can tell that I'm losing pounds and inches. This made me feel so good to not have to starve myself to lose weight. Will take a nice long walk this evening and treat myself well and learn from this current down cycle in my life. My menu for today includes:

B: Water w/lemon, glass of Rejuvelac
B2: Green Smoothie w/Kale, blueberries, orange, bananna and Rejucelac
L: Creamy Kale-Apple Soup
S: Glass of Cocunut/Mango/Pinapple/Strawberry Shake from yesterday
S: Tangerine
D: Marinated Portabella mushrooms; marinated bok choy, unfried rice, salad
S: Two Walnut/Almond/Fig cookies

That looks like alot of food, I know, but I have to feed myself every couple of hours or I will slip and slide into SADville. I am losing weight though so it is all good.

Take care everyone!!!

Hi everyone

Whoh, my detox has begun.. And they say it takes at least 2 years to finish detoxing.. whoo...

I've been feeling cold and sleepy, but i'm hanging in there. I mean this is nothing compared to some shit i've been through...Read a lot on EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques - emofree.com) in a book i got from the library, and i tried it on my detox-symptoms. I'll give it a few weeks, but i'm open dor all these new techniques on releasing anxiety!

Well, as far as eating goes this is my day so far:

B - buckwheat/apple porrige w dried apricots and sesame mylk
S - two brazil nuts and 1/2 a cantaloupe
L - Asparagus, radishes, carrotsticks and cuke with guacamole
S - YogiTea Detox tea
S - A green smoothie that turned into a green juice (too chunky, so i strained it) made from radish greens and pear, and a glass of psyllium husk w water to make things move along a lil faster inside

Went to the HFS and got a bottle of Udo's oils, some raw unpasteurized kimchee for the good bacteria, and the psyllium husk.

Peace

It's interesting to be creating new eating patterns. I keep doing this one thing where I just take every raw green thing out of the fridge an put it all on my table. And then i sit down with my little wooden bowl, my chopsticks, and an array of vinegars and spices and just start grabbing whatever I want and munching away. It's nice and quick and satisfying. It's like having a big platter of options. And also, it's a way of making sure everything gets eaten in a timely fashion and nothing goes bad.

This isn't nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be!! :D I've kept my sweet tooth as bay with some dates here and there...

Today (so far)--
B- Green smoothie (it was alright- the berries wern't very sweet so I added a smidge of raw agave) LOL! I was just talking about keeping my sweet tooth at bay! :D

S- 2 small apples

L- Big ol salad with romaine, red peppers, sprouts, cucs, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds topped with a ACV/EVOO dressing.

S- Larabar

Dinner- Not sure- probably another salad.

I got to the NFS at lunchtime and got some nuts so I can make some pate from the cookbook!!

I got very little sleep last night but I still feel pretty good, and I think it's due to the lack of refined carbs. Anyway, I went to my part-time job early this morning and did not eat first. I was starving when I got home and all I wanted was a salad. I had mixed greens with grape tomatoes. Now I'm at the "real" job, and I just had a big handful of kumquats. I LOVE those things!! Dinner will be another salad, mixed greens with a diced avacado, tomato, red onion, and mushrooms, with olive oil and cider vinegar. I have an apple and an orange for a snack if I get hungry later.

I have to make a trip to the NFS for nuts and dried fruit, as I have nothing.

I was just really hoping to be losing more weight than this. I have only lost 8 lbs total in just over 3 weeks. My weight right now is 165. I'll just keep going. Today I had two grapefruits, 2 romaine rolls with califlower, kimchee, and avocado, 4 almond balls, and mango and grapes for dinner. We had these little yellow mangos and they were awesome. We had never had those before.

Ugh. Bad afternoon. Went to Sam's to grocery shop. $270.00 gone but well spent.
The kids were starving and wanted to go out so we went to Chic-fil-a. They have a fruit salad that I wanted. So we got there and they got chicken and waffle fries. OH, boy did I want the waffle fries! I had to pick chicken off my salad and cheese. Then I ate it. I decided that going to a SAD resturant is just to be avoided. To top it off, the kids didn't finish their fries and ran off to play. Somehow I resisted. I de
We got home and the kids made fruit arrangements on the dinning table. It looks nice.
While we were at Sam's, my dear daughter decided she would cheat on her RAW. and she brought sinful things home.
Ah it was rough. Worst day so far. The good in all that is that she decided her ill gotten gains did not taste as good as she thought. Now she is upstairs with a stomach ache, :D.
I found apricots at Sams. The pesticide free tomatoes are not to be found.
Well, I survived the day.
I am going to enjoy a guilt free smoothie with loads of fruit.

Here's how I made the corn chowder. It's a variation of a recipe by Snowdrop.

2 ears corn, cut off the cob
1 carrot
1/4 c cashews
1 tsp cumin
salt to taste

Throw it all in a blender until smooth. I added about 1 c water to get it to the consistency I liked. I reserved some of the corn and put that in whole at the end, but I preferred the chowder to the corn pieces. Next time I'll just blend all the corn.

Hi ya'll!

I haven't been checking in(my son was sick), but I have been keeping it raw.

I didn't have much of an appetite the last couple days...bites of fruit & greens here and there is all. I hope everyone else is doing swell. :-)

Best wishes!

Congrats on resisting the waffle fries...they are much harder to stay away from than the shoestring kind, not sure why, but I feel your pain. I won't go in to fast food restaurants. I refuse to even be seen in one, LOL. My mom takes my son to the evil Chic-fil-A once per week or so, even though every time she does, he gains weight & it takes him all week to drop it. I have to get on her about the "once per month" rule again.

Nice places to eat are ones with great big salad bars...all you can eat baby greens! We have Golden Corral here, and, recently, they started having pine nuts and mesclun mix and other goodies on their bar; also, they usually have large amounts of raw fruit waiting to be devoured. Just make sure to pack extra virgin olive oil (then just add lemon) or a raw dressing with you & be ready for some strange looks when you carry your towering plates of produce.:D
