Raw out and about

Today I went out to lunch with my sister. She does not know I am doing raw nor was I telling her. So she chose Red Robin. I have never been there. Not a veggie kinda place. All the salads were not raw friendly so I asked the waiter to take all the raw veggies they had besides iceburg lettuce and jalopenos and make me a salad with their fresh made guac on the side. Well they tossed cheese on :eek: it but I worked around it. Had lemon water with it and I was happy. Raw out and about.

How funny, I went to Red Robbin with friends yesterday too!

I did research beforehand, and found that the "side dinner salad" was my only option. It didn't list the ingredients, but had a picture. It looked okay from what I saw. I asked them to add avocado.

Little did I know that the shredded carrots I saw in the picture was actually shredded cheese! I had to ask them to make me a new one, I felt bad. I hate how they don't list the ingredients anywhere! I have learned that whenever I am at a chain/non-health friendly restaurant to always clarify what is in the salad.

Hey I'm headed there in a couple weeks! Whenever I go out I get a salad & asked what steamed veggies they have & I ask for those raw on the side. I usually ask for avacado if they have it & use lemons also for a dressing.....oh & I always ask for extra tomatoes cause I love them :)

Today I had watermelon for breakfast and went for my hair appoinment. Then I had to pick up batteries for sons hearing aids. Then I had another appoinment and realized I needed to eat.I was on the fast food strip OH NO!!
So I went to the end hit the organic food store. They had a salad bar. I was very disappointed in it :(. I ran over to the organic produce and grabbed some mejool dates, an organic banana and some dried pineapple slices.
Took some greens from the salad bar and grabbed some water. I was very proud of myself :D. I then let the co-op know that they did not have many choices for those that ate raw food. I told her that some organic nuts would have been great with a few more raw veggie choices. She is going to submit a request to the store. :D and they had yucky tomatoes really this is a store that had yummy ones in the produce section.
