Welcome to Day Three!
Springtime

Gosh, it's already day three! This just isn't as hard as i thought it would be! I mean, i'd been imagining strong cravings, hunger pains, headaches.. but (knock on wood) none of that's happened yet, and i feel fab!
Still have a few not-so-raw things in my fridge that i'm clearing out, like olives, harissa and organic no-funk boullion powder, and i still use "regular" spices, but aside from that i'm all raw. Oh, and i eat two brazil nuts every day to boost my selenium intake. They're fair trade and organic, but probably not all raw. But still, apart from a few grams of spice and brazilies a day, i'm kickin this!
So far i've had...
B - salad of apple, orange, the green parts of scallions and tomato, and a spoonful of tahina
L - Green smoothie made from and orange, wild blueberries and baby spinach, plus zucchini noodles with tomato sauce. And a couple of olives.
Peace

I just finished off my pint of leftover juice from yesterday morning.
I got on the scale this morning and I'm down to 148.5- wowsa!! I've lost 3.5 pounds!! Of course that stomach bug on Friday hurt me, but still!! I feel great and fresh!! I've not had any detox symptoms at all, but I weaned myself from hot tea (something I miss) a few weeks ago. I thought I'd be craving carbs more as I really love bread.
In case you missed my post yesterday, be sure to make Alissa Pai Tai- it was the bomb!! :D I was sure after all that almond butter I was going to gain weight, but I didn't!!

Hi everyone, beautiful morning! Happy (no, delighted!!) to have made it to Day 3! I've had a delicious green smoothie for breakfast, made with spinach, strawberries and banana. I have to work today, second shift, so I'll pack lots of yummies. A ripe Bosc pear, an orange, a great big salad with an avacado, and possibly another smoothie. Have a great day.

Oh No! I've gained 4 lbs since cleanse ended. I'm just hoping its because I haven't had a BM!
I haven't cheated. But I have had too many nuts, as usual. So I'm going to have a no nut day.
Breakfast: 8oz Watermelon, 4oz Papaya
Snack: Smoothie: Spinach, Banana
Lunch: Big Salad w/Hemp
Snack: Smoothie
Dinner: Portobello Mushrooms w/Salad
Water: 60oz water.
Hope this sets me up for a better more controlled day. I can't gain anymore.

RawHappy: I usually put on a couple of pounds after a fast. Do not despair, if you continue to eat Raw, it will come off and even more.

goood morning...i mean afternoon. I slept in a lot today. Probably shouldn't have -- got a lot of work to do!
trying to eat my greens today. I have a lot of collards and kale, and also some lighter micro greens for salads. maybe some avocado to fill me up. And I can tell I'm gonna want a nice crisp red delicious apple.

Checking in....
It has been a lovely day.
Hello all.
My dear daughter got lonesome on Atkins and decided to join me for the challenge this month. What a nice surprise for me.
I just got my new dehydrator going with Kale chips! They should be done at 8am.
I bet if we did a survey of the first thing people make in their new dehydrator, kale chips would be pretty close to the top of the list.
I went to Kentucky Fried Chicken to pick up dinner for my smaller kids and Honey [husband]. Honey says he can't live on my diet. Interesting that he knows this and has never been on it. Let me tell you, for those who think RAW is expensive, 8 pieces of chicken plus two sides costs $18.99!!!
Well, at first I felt unhappy over not being able to have chicken. Then I got out my watermelon, which was absolutely perfect. By the time I got to my second piece, I wasn't worried about their chicken. Didn't even miss it. Honey was eye-balling my wateremelon but it was hands off buddy!!
This watermelon costs $8.00[a little high for here] and I have been eating it over the past three days. I have also shared it with my youngest three kids.
I think it was a better bargin than Honey's chicken.
The three youngest kids were all over the making of the Kale Chips. They are planning Kale chip breakfast.
Lots of energy. No detox, did that last month. Hot flashes are less.
I made it through three 12 hour night shifts with NO coffee. So, as of today, I have been coffee free for 10 days. The first of April, I was drinking 3 pots a day.
Almost forgot: My weight at the beginning of this challenge was 222lbs. I will not weigh again until the end of the challenge.

Myca, it's nice that you have someone at home to share this with.
Good day for me!
Started with a pineapple, baby spinach and cucumber smoothie - delicious!
Snacks: apple and veggie sticks
Lunch was light, a salad - I was saving up for dinner.
Two words: Alissa's Eggplant (Parmesan...oops, that's 3 words) :p
Highly recommend this dish. I have a ton of it leftover so I'll be eating that up during the week.

victory is mine! My friend wanted to go down to the corner market to get snacks and he was getting chips and cheetos and cookies and bread and butter and I wanted all of it!
but i got a banana and a bottle of raspberry Kombucha instead and was mostly satisfied and also not completely bogged down with sugar. I don't care that I had already eaten my fruit quota today (i'm trying to be low glycemic and raw at the same time, so lots of greens).
So here's to successfully averting a close call! And now back to scaling the homework mountain...

Glad your daughter joined you...I've never done the Akins diet...I have done the Zone diet though. I really think the zone diet helped me with ritht amount of food at meal time and such...and also P/C/F ratios...especially the later. I really believe you have to have Protien, Carb, and Fat in most every meal....and if you can combine them into a meal...MAN...your on the right track!
ps..maybe hubby need to see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFgbHK6yP2g
Maybe not though LOL...

I am in day 3. I packed my food to carry with me in my Mr. Bento. Mixed nuts and raisins. 4 clementines, a mixed veggie salad, and miso soup.

gah! mr. Bento! I was so excited to have a mr. bento about a year ago! But after a while I got kind of disillusioned -- it was so hard to clean! It likes to hold onto smells. But I guess that was back in my cooked days and I was filling it with piping hot chicken tikka masala that stank up everything.
