I'm not sure what I can do or what my boyfriend can do about his eyes.
All day his eyes hurt. They are very sensitive to bright light.
He says his sight is fine and normal but that his eyes are just sore. The other night they both had one bright red streak from the inner corner of his eyes to the iris'.
He's been 100% raw vegan for many years. He loves sleeping and gets 10+ hours of sleep every night. He works at the computers all day long. He has turned down the brightness of the screen more then half. They even hurt when he takes a day off work.
Just wondering if anyone here has any tips or info on what could help soothe his eyes ??
He also gets a head pain every morning. More of pain then a actual headache, like his pulse is pounding so hard in his head. He got me to feel his temples 30min after he woke up and I could feel his pulse, his veins were pumping so hard - you could almost see it! I think this has something to do with his eyes too. I give his head a massage but the massage alone just isn't doing it....
Anyone else gone through similar symptoms ?? Or know how to relief the symptoms.. ?

Hi RawSar, has your boyfriend gotten his eyes examined? He says they are all right, but it could not hurt to have an opthamologist check them out. He is working on the computer many hours a day and perhaps he is even more sensitive to this now being a raw foodist. In comparison to say sense of smell or hearing, etc. I am nearsighted and wear corrective lenses. My sight is improving being Raw, but I still get my eyes checked. In the past when I've had eye pain it's circulated to my entire head, produce a massive headache. There is a link. I just wouldn't mess around with the eyes. I would highly recommend he get his eyes checked. It could be anything. Just my opinion and I hope he feels better soon and gets his answers. I can relate to eyeaches being truly uncomfortable and can make you miserable.

I agree with RawHeaven, get him to an opthamologist!

He should also see a Medical Doctor. For now go to a Drug Store and check his Blood Pressure and Pulse.

If he's staring at a computer all day, he needs to take frequent breaks and do eye exercises.
Example: Look to the left, then look up, next look to the right, and then look down. Do this several times, then close the eyes and rest them for a few minutes. This will lessen the strain.
Regular exercise and sunlight is very important to for eye issues.
Exercise increases circulation and being outdoors provides eye exercises to improve vision.
You can google this for supportive research pertaining to this.

That's how my eye problems started last year. It turned out to be uveitis (could also be iritis) in both eyes. It's important to get his eyes checked, but don't fall for the steroid drop farce. They cause cataracts. I made the mistake and took them, I have to have a cataract operation later this month, and due to the doctor's negligence, the steroids also caused my lenses to be stuck to the iris, so the pupils can't open or close. Not much fun! So tell him to get his eyes looked at by an ophthalmologist.

Thanks for the responses :)
He won't go see a doctor - he doesn't like 'em. He says that they are just sore because they are tired and not getting enough rest and that he's not taking enough breaks (I really wish he would ;) )
For his head pain I can give him scalp massages, but for his eyes there really is nothing I can do I guess which sucks...
I think a big part has to do with stress. This man likes to be in control of EVERYTHING and has taken a lot of responsibility and with his dad being very sick for the last 2-3 years and just passed away this year...
He won't say it's stress but I really think that's what it's mostly caused by.....
I will just continue to keep giving him massages and pull him away from the comp as much as I can and hopefully things will settle down here.
Thanks for the responses! :)

Hey there RawSar. This is a case of we cannot heal anyone but ourselves. If he believes he knows it has to do with rest, there is no arguing with him and perhaps he's absolutely correct. :) I just intuitively pick up something is shifting with his eyesight and he would find relief getting them looked at rather than suffering. We all have a choice. He doesn't need to go forward with any medical procedures, simply knowing what it is can probably give him the information he needs to move forward and facilitate healing. Knowledge is power.
I wasn't too fond of doctors either and that's an understatement. I didn't go to them for years and honestly I still do not. But I still needed to see orthopedic surgeons to assist me with my healing process when I broke my leg. Then I took it from there. They serve a purpose on some levels and there are wonderful healers in any profession. I learned this from my own experience not to generalize. I don't agree with how the medical system misleads and pushes drugs, but there are always exceptions. Sometimes you need to go. I can only speak from my own personal experience....I would never mess around with my eyes. Eye pain can be a symptom of many things, including stress. If it's only stress and fatigue that are the culprits this is good to know for him. But what if it's something else?

I refuse to go to doctors, if I can help it. My regular doctor is a naturopath. I never thought about my eyes until suddenly I had problems. Right now I can barely read anything. A few months ago I could only see 10 feet clearly. I live by myself and had a hard time driving the 7 miles to the store.
I did manage to get myself off the steroids by going on a 5 week fast (3 weeks juice, 8 days water, 6 days juice). After a huge flair-up, my eyes gradually got better. You might want to check out the book "The Eye Care Revolution. Prevent and Reverse Common Vision Problems" by Robert Abel, Jr., M.D. It's loaded with useful information on healing your eyes with diet and supplements. Uveitis and iritis (a symptom of both is painful stabs when looking toward a light source, among others) are often caused by inflammation. Ginger and turmeric are anti inflammatory. I put it into vegi-caps and take 2 grams a day of each. Tell him not to mess around with his eyes. It sucks not being able to see well!

Men can be stubborn ;) He's positive they just need rest. I agree with what both of you said.
In a month we go see our naturopath and we will see what he says.. until then, I just have to listen to him complain lol :p

I know. I was trying to step around that and be PC. lol. I didn't know you had a naturopath - that's great! He probably simply loves your head massages and extra nurturing too.

hi rawstar
my husband uses a tequnique he calls palming for his eye problems. his eye problems were a declined eyesight which was straining on the eyes with or without glasses. anyway he claims the tequnique has improved his eyesight and he now only wears glasses while driving at night when raining or foggy conditions and even this he has no problems getting away with. in addition he claims the palming is really relaxing. i have tried it a couple of times just for tired eyes and i do agree it is really relaxiing. anyway it is supposed to be a healing tecnique and it continues to work well for him. i must admit that he does practice it regularly. hope everything gets better-nothing worse than having health issues
