Ok all you experienced raw foodies out there. :D I need your best suggestions for foods that help relieve bloating and swelling. (Please don't say green smoothies...I hate them. :p) Any ideas? I'm going to get some pineapple tomorrow, that always seems to help. What else could help?

Celery. The natural sodium balances your system.
Stay away from Braggs, and sea salt, and use just a little seaweed (but, do use them!)

I also love to eat lots and lots of berries when I have edema... seems to flush the system really well.

I think RaeVynn is right. You may just need to flush yourself out. Get a berry smoothie with oranges. It works for me every time. :)

I dunno about specific foods for you but whatever you eat....... slow down and chew. Or if it's liquified stuff use a soup spoon and relish each mouthful. See if that helps. It may not be a food specific problem.

That's what makes all the difference for me cornvalley....slowing down and properly chewing.
...sometimes it's the actual food though, but am at a loss to give you an example.

Also, I used to hate gs too, but cucumbers are really mild and nice and are supposed to be good for your skin...which I realize has Nothing to do with bloating, lol....just an aside.

Good Morning Ya'll. The morning after I posted this...and thank you, thank you one and all for all the suggestions. :) I will try all the things mentioned here! And thank you for the cucumber suggestion...I will actually try that too. I'm usually game for anything, but for some reason strong greens ruin the fruit flavor for me. :p But cucumbers...maybe even zucchini! See there you got me thinking! Perhaps I'll give GS another try after all.

And I definitely need to slow down on the chewing! I'm in such a hurry these days, I'm thinking...do I even sit down when I eat? ouch. That's bad. I'll definitely think more about this.

Hey...on my own...I thought, what about breathing and relaxing? Perhaps its a bit of stress as well. ;) So, I'm incorporating some yoga into my life again....deep breathing!

Thank you for all the ideas! Feel free to add more if you think of them. (((HUGS)))

Have you tried ginger yet? That usually helps me.

Usually it's sensitivity to specific foods that leave us bloated and gassy. The best way to combat it is to do a juice fast for two or three days (or more) to calm everything down and get your bowels empty (you could do an actual colon cleanse). Then slowly reintroduce foods one or two at a time. You will quickly discover which foods you are sensitive to. Then all you have to do is to avoid those foods.
