Butter Beans

Hi! I am wanting to know is it possible to make a raw butter bean hummous? i read somewhere that no beans should be eaten uncooked as its poisonous?

also are butter beans the same as 'white beans'?

i had an amazing hummous at a raw resturant in london that was even better than chickpea hummous.

If anyone has any answers it would be much appreciated!

oh my gosh!! i don't know, but i'll be checking back! i love butter beans (and i did eat them raw when i was a kid and my mamaw's garden came in, not that many though...)

Butter Beans and White Beans are not the same, they have different Flavors and shapes. Butter Beans are Big or can be small but are mostly Flat. Beans are hard to digest, even when cooked.

Why didn't you talk to the cook in London, maybe he would have given you the Recipe or some tips. I know, it was so Good you forgot. Maybe someone from London will know the place you are speaking of and Post.
