Hi,

My name is Jeff, and I live in the US in Roanoke VA. I am 31 years old, married, and have 2 children.

I am likely not like most of you in terms of diet. I do not follow a raw food diet, I am not vegan, nor am I even a vegetarian.

My current diet is absolutely horrible, as evidenced by the fact that I weigh in at 381 pounds at 6 foot tall. I am in bad shape, trying to lose weight, and also trying to get more healthy.

I am here to learn more about juicing, and particularly juice fasting.

Yesterday I ordered a juicer (Omega 8003 - seemed to get good reviews), and when it comes I plan to in the short/medium term replace most of my meals with raw juicing, and possibly even try a full out juice fast to aid in weight loss and getting my body in better health. The fast will depend on my willpower, and is why I say possibly.....

In the long term, I doubt I will ever make a full 100% switch to a raw food diet, or even a vegetarian diet, as I do very much enjoy foods that are not part of either diet. I want to learn to eat those foods less frequently, and rely on fruits and vegetables more in my diet. IE: Instead of using vegetables as a side dish, and animal products as a main focus, doing the exact opposite and only eating meats sparingly. (I read the rules, and hope this does not violate them, I am not promoting eating meat, nor do I plan to discuss it on this forum, just wanted everyone to know where I am and where I will likely end up)

Any way, that's where I am, my goals, and whatnot. :)

Hi J3ff - Thanks for your honesty. Just get started on your juice fast and go from there. Take one day (or one meal!) at a time. Hopefully, you'll begin feeling better and healthier and losing weight and it will encourage you to eat more and more raw food each day. Alot of people don't do 100% right off the bat. Sometimes if they try, they find it too difficult. So try easing into it and hopefully you'll do amazing and soon you'll be on the raw road!! Good luck!!
