Hello and good day to everyone, I was wondering if anyone has some good ideas for cleansing the palate after eating some of this delicious raw food. I love the taste of my food while I am eating it but tasting it for several hours afterwards is not very fun. I want to help inspire other people that I know to add more raw foods to their diets but I do not want them to be scared away because some flavors seem to stick with you all day. If it is bothering me I feel pretty certain it would bother them as well. What seems to give me the most trouble is anything with either onions or garlic in the recipe. I just taste those flavors all day long. Any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a super week/weekend.

What about chewing on some mint leaves or parsley. Parsley always works for me. I will brush and floss and if the onion or whatever taste is still there, I will chew some parsley and swish all the juices around and inbetween the teeth. Maybe a warm water baking soda rinse.

Eating an orange or apple or other fibery fruit has helped me=) Lemonade as well. Perhaps cutting down on your garlic/onion consumption would help too.

I agree with RAWmen and Thick. Parsley has always been an antidote for Garlic and cutting back is an option. Garlic and Onions are not socialable but are very good for you.

I have been cutting back on the garlic a lot.......I now make guacamole without it even. Not missing it like I thought I would. Food flavors are coming more alive.....
I think the fact that you're tasting it for hours later means too much.....
Brushing with banking soda afterwards?

Many thanks for all your thoughtful replies. I will try your ideas and see if they help. I am not really using that much garlic or onions. Maybe a clove of garlic (deveined) and at most a quarter to a half of a small onion in a dish that serves four. Any other suggestions are most certainly still welcome. Happy eating.
