Today I noticed that when ever the sun hit my face it burned and got blotchy. Now there is no sun and it burns like crazy. It is all blotchy and looks absolutley terrible.
I noticed last weekend that it got red from walking 10 feet down the road.
Can something I am eating cause sun sensitivity or is this normal detox?
I did want to state we are scent free dye free in our house. As well as cars. No meds being taken either.

I remember reading that overeating buckwheat greens can cause a sun sensitivity, also numbing of the extremities. sorry can't remember where I read it.

Sr John's wort can make you more photosensitve, and comes with warnings to be careful in the sun when taking as you can burn much more seriously.
Maybe try to find some connection with being sun sensitive and the foods/herbs you are eating....

I am not eating any grains. I eat a raw nut. Occasional dried fruit.
I am not sunburning. I am turning red almost as soon as I hit the sun(it starts to clear up hours later but reappears as soon as I hit the sun). Even thru my car windshield.
Since I don't eat lots of kale I am wondering if kale could be causing it.
I am scent free dye free . I am using the same bottles of shampoo and bar of soap I used the last few weeks. (hmmm wait I did just open a new bottle of the usual shampoo I use but I always rinse away from my face).
This red blotching and hurting burning is ONLY on my face.
I am NOT on any meds or vitamins or any pills. I also don't drink alcoholic beverages.

Oh well, hey, this wipes out everything I just typed below. LOL! I didn't realize you had responded, didn't read all of the responses in the thread. I have no idea what it is, but I'm taking a wild guess that whatever is in that bar of soap is irritating your skin. It might not be something you're eating. But it could be anything. But really, if you don't already have it, aloe vera oil dabbed on cotton ball will bring relief. INCREASE your greens! Green smoothies & green juices! Hope you feel better!

I developed this same issue out of nowhere in December 2007 (pre-raw) and it got pretty intense. It only occurred on my face as well - the rest of my body would be fine. It was worse after exposure through windows (UVA light only). Dermatologists couldn't figure it out and I tried a few things that seemed to work...Quercetin, Vitamin C, and Bromelain combo. It would prevent and also halt any reaction that did occur, so I assumed that the allergic process was stopped by these supplements. This issue persisted for about a year and now here we are, May of 09 and I no longer use Quercetin or sunscreen and I can perfectly tolerate the sun now. I still have no idea why my skin developed this sun allergy which lasted for about a year, but am so glad that it is a thing of the past. Hope your issue resolves completely
