Has anyone ever gotten this raw? Is it detox? I'm also having some cramps in my calves.

I have had this when my potassium was low. Hope this helps.

Could be a variety of issues. As mstrish says, possibility of low potassium or imbalance but also, if you've twisted or done something strange, could be pressure on the sciatic nerve... could be just not enough water...

Without being able to ask questions such as what have you been eating/drinking/doing, etc., it's pretty much guessing.

How do I know if I'm getting enough potassium? I called a nurse and she said it could be sodium and calcium. I know how to increase my potassium and sodium, but what about calcium? Anything raw that's calcium rich? Maybe I'll just have to go out and buy some supplements because my multivitamin doesn't have hardly any calcium.

For me, I have had these. I look at it as raw doing its job. Cleaning out old stuff. My legs bothered me alot before raw so I figure its stuff on it way out.

I trust raw and allow it to cleanse my body, without a sickness mindset(the mind and body are so connected) as the world appears to be in a sickness mentality. I invent wellness all the time. I pull towards it and not give my focus to unwellness.

I go with it and ride it out. It goes away.

Calcium rich foods, Kale, Bok Choy, sesame seeds, you can go to nutrition data website and do a search.

Hmm. Sounds like I'll be making another trip to the health food store. :) I love sesame sticks. They have them in bulk there. I wonder if they're raw.

Sesame sticks are not raw . . . and they don't even contain the right kind of sesame seeds.

You want the sesame seeds that are unhulled because the hulls contain the calcium. unhulled = still have the calcium-rich shells on them. Then you have to blend the living daylights out of those sesame seeds to get the calcium to be absorbable. Check out my bone-building drink thread for some calcium ideas.

I started taking calcium supplements and it still hasn't improved. Should I take B12? How much B12 do I need a day?

How long have you been raw and how long have you been experiencing the tingling?

I have experienced some acheness in my legs as well as sensations in the lower leg muscle next to the shin bone. I personally feel my body was cleaning itself. That area used be dense and painful and now if feels like the tissue is less congested. It is also the Stomach Meridian in Acupuncture. I usually massage my legs daily and it does help.

I've been raw for 1 1/2 weeks now. Maybe I'll just give it a little longer and it will go away. The tingling has stopped. It's just cramping now.

I'm not sure what your diet was like before, but when you stop eating processed foods, cooked foods, the body goes through a lot of changes. For the first time it's getting real food on a consistent basis. It starts to clear out the debri. Everything is cleansing. The blood, the lymph, the cells, etcc..Of course there are times when something else is going on, but unless you had this prior to raw, I would say it is part of the cleansing process.

If I was looking for some sort of solution for cramps, The first thing I would eat is probably some kelp or other sea vegetable due to the mineral content or maybe some coconut water for the electrolytes. I would also stretch.
