I've got the raw cacao powder and raw coco butter.

How can I make raw chocolate? What sweetner would be ok?

Any ideas?

I can't remember where I found this recipe, but it's AMAZING. I use more coconut and less of any other nut as I prefer the chocolatey coconut taste...plus too much of other nuts make me sick. I put it in the freezer, it's ready to eat very soon that way :D

Carob Bark
1 c. raw coconut oil*
3/4 c. raw carob (or cocoa)*
2 t. vanilla flavor*
1 c. raisins, raw nuts, coconut, or whatever you want
Put the coconut oil in a bowl, Put this bowl in another bowl of hot water, When it's melted, stir in the carob to make it smooth, then stir in the other stuff. Spread on wax paper lined cookie sheet, put in fridge or freezer 5-10 minutes to make it hard. Break into pieces
Try experimenting with peppermint or other flavors instead of vanilla.

Meant to put this on the food prep board! If a mod wants to move it that would be great!

Well my experiment was a total failure, and so was my fixing....I am now sticking to choc-banana smoothies, brownies and chocolate-agave sauce for my chocolate needs.

My boyfriend made some awesome chocolates the other night. Sorry I don't know the measurements, but these are the ingredients:

Raw Cacao Butter,
Raw chocolate powder
Agave or you can use Raw organic Honey
fresh vanilla bean
Dash of maca.

Pour into a mold, some people use ice trays, and put in freezer to harden. Of course all you really need is some chocolate, a sweetner, and either coconut oil or cacao butter. There are some instructional vids on you tube.

I'm not trying to be a thread buster, but eventually you will not need it anymore. I can't even tell you how many times a week I would make a raw chocolate dessert or have something chocolate. Now I don't even buy raw cacao anymore. This is what I love about the raw food lifestyle. There are so many hills, valleys, learnings and experiences. You never know where you'll end up. :p

I found this recipe on Ani Phyo's blog yesterday. I have not tried it but it sounds divine. Ingredients may be a bit hard to find.

Ani’s Raw Vegan Chocolate
• 1 cup cacao butter, shaved
• 1/2 cup cacao powder
• 1/4 cup mesquite powder
• 2 Tablespoons maca powder
• 2 Tablespoons agave, to taste

Begin my placing shaved butter into a bowl. Place that bowl into another larger bowl filled with hot water. Set aside to melt into liquid.
Next, add cacao, mesquite, maca, and agave. Stir well. You can even use a Personal Blender to mix well. Transfer into a squeeze bottle, and fill candy molds with chocolate.
Freeze to firm up. Will keep at room temperature

LOL!

I don't need it - I want it! and I don't want to stop wanting it!

And it's mostly for my kiddies anyway!
